Purple highlighted sea zones

What is the significance of the purple highlight in the adjacent sea zones when moving a fleet? I've searched the FAQ and manual and strategy guide to no avail.

I assume you are using skin other than normal (modern by Agent?). This is only to diverse adjacent sea zones for better recognition.
