sPOONz -> Spys - not quite 007 standard? (12/23/2011 1:34:18 AM)

At least my spys performance is lame. Ive been sticking to 90% success rates or higher, usually trying to pinch territory maps or sabotage things. Yet the majority of my spys get caught. Is there something Im missing? Or am I being super unlucky?

When the success rate is shown, I assume this includes my spy penalties and any modifiers from the target nation? Other than doing easy missions is there any other method to train spys?

I am not sure, but I hope the counter intelligence of the enemy is not shown. That would be game breaking... we are not God to know it all.

Who are you spying against?
I find that at 85% and up, spies might still fail or be detected, but never captured.
If you are spying against the Ketarov, well then there is your problem.

Atuuks are the race im trying to do steal/sabotage missions against. Ive run out of spies now too.

"but I hope the counter intelligence of the enemy is not shown" - I totally agree. I feel also that the spies I have left on the counter intelligence mission gain bad traits. It seems they need to do 'actuall missions' in order to gain skill. Unfortunatley they keep getting captured and killed. I have just noticed tho that in their diplomacy info box (Atuuks) they are getting '15% Better Spies' from humans in their own empire. It would make sense that this 15% is already included in in my spies overall success rate. If not however, that would mean my success rate is acctually around 75% which is what it feels like.

It's not. That's why a mission of 85% is considered risky.

As G Cube stated, the enemy nations' counter-intelligence modifiers are not known to you
and are not considered in your Agents' numbers. I always try to send my Agents on missions
at 93% or better for normal missions and 95% or better for dangerous ones. [:)]
