Here are some sample screen shots from test games of the RUS Weathers Mod v1.0. (These are from the first official release of the mod. This is not an announcement of a new mod release.) Early November 1918 Caucasus. [image]http://pikt.org/ageod/rus/weathers/RUSWeathersMod10EarlyNovember1918Caucasus.jpg[/image] Late November 1918 Steppe. [image]http://pikt.org/ageod/rus/weathers/RUSWeathersMod10LateNovember1918Steppe.jpg[/image] Early December 1918 Steppe. Note the lack of snow in the Mediterranean climate type regions bordering the Black Sea, also the Desertic Steppe regions at the east map edge. [image]http://pikt.org/ageod/rus/weathers/RUSWeathersMod10EarlyDecember1918Steppe.jpg[/image] Late December 1918 Central Asia. Snow in the elevated regions along the south map edge, no snow in the desert regions to the north. [image]http://pikt.org/ageod/rus/weathers/RUSWeathersMod10LateDecember1918CentralAsia.jpg[/image] Early January 1919 Desertic Steppe. Again, no snow in the desert and desertic steppe regions. [image]http://pikt.org/ageod/rus/weathers/RUSWeathersMod10EarlyJanuary1919DeserticSteppe.jpg[/image] Late January 1919 Steppe, Desertic Steppe, Caucasus. Occasionally, it can snow in the (usually) desertic steppe regions. Again, no snow in the Mediterranean climate type regions in the Caucasus. [image]http://pikt.org/ageod/rus/weathers/RUSWeathersMod10LateJanuary1919SteppeDeserticSteppeCaucasus.jpg[/image] Early March 1919 European, North Continental. Winter tends to be shorter in Poland and areas to the west, longer and colder in the Russian interior. [image]http://pikt.org/ageod/rus/weathers/RUSWeathersMod10EarlyMarch1919EuropeanContinental.jpg[/image] Early April 1919 Subarctic East. Uniformly snow cover. No holes! [image]http://pikt.org/ageod/rus/weathers/RUSWeathersMod10EarlyApril1919SubarcticEast.jpg[/image] Early April 1919 Subarctic West. Again uniform snow cover to the north bordering the Arctic Circle, no snow to the south. And no holes! [image]http://pikt.org/ageod/rus/weathers/RUSWeathersMod10EarlyApril1919SubarcticWest.jpg[/image] No more "holes", "orphans", "fingers", or "crazy quilts" (except where climate science and the AGEOD-specified region terrain types mandate them). A plausible treatment of rain/mud patterns across the map, and in all seasons, too. A model of game weathers more consistent with climatological facts (as I interpret them). With my RUS Weathers Mod, what you see is what you'll get. Subject to possible further tweaks. But all in all, I'm really happy with these results. I hope you'll agree.
