Don Bowen -> China Clipper Artwork (12/29/2011 9:44:47 PM)

Does anyone have artwork for the three types of "China Clipper" flying boats? That's Boeing 314, Martin M-130, and Sikorsky S-42 - all in US Navy Colors (if possible).

oldman45 -> RE: China Clipper Artwork (12/31/2011 3:33:48 AM)

I was hoping somebody had some laying around some here.

Been re-reading Womack. Let me add Do.15 Wal and C.XIV-W, both in Dutch colors, to the wish list...

Note the cargo and range on the 314. Sad thing is there were only a dozen or so used by the navy.

General characteristics
Crew: 11, including 2 cabin stewards
Capacity: Daytime: 74 passengers, Nighttime: 36 passengers
Payload: 10,000 lb (4,500 kg) of mail and cargo

Empty weight: 48,400 lb (21,900 kg)
Loaded weight: 84,000 lb (38,000 kg)

Performance
Maximum speed: 210 mph (180 knots, 340 km/h)
Cruise speed: 188 mph (163 knots, 302 km/h) at 11,000 ft (3,400 m)
Range: 3,685 mi (3,201 nm, 5,896 km) normal cruise
Service ceiling: 19,600 ft (5,980 m)

According to another site, the normal range was 3500 miles. What is the formula for extended and max? [8D]

Martin M-130 Zipped JPEG format

In Pan Am colors-Prewar, may be Atlantic service colors, not Pacific service colors??? Not sure on that becuase i dont have much info on the Martin M-130 Pan Am service history.

Lesbaker -> RE: Martin M-130 (1/2/2012 12:17:34 AM)

MY BAD!! Posted M-130 sides in wrong size format here's the correct size

oldman45 -> RE: Martin M-130 (1/2/2012 2:59:40 AM)

On one site it said they painted them a dull sea grey. Nothing like keeping it simple. Good work all of you.

Very NICE!

Buck Beach -> RE: Martin M-130 (1/2/2012 11:26:36 PM)

How are you (collectively) going to work it into the game?

oldman45 -> RE: Martin M-130 (1/3/2012 12:10:51 AM)

What little I have found, I think making small detachments 1 or 2 planes and putting them in major ports to support outlying outposts. Remember there were only 12 of those built for Pan Am.

Don Bowen -> RE: Martin M-130 (1/3/2012 12:51:19 AM)

Unfortunately....

United States Aircraft since 1911 says only 5 B-314A and 2 M-130 in Naval Service. Couple army (not much data), three British, some lost pre-war.

Lesbaker -> Dornier DO-15 (1/3/2012 1:33:40 AM)

Here's a preview in 41 colours
