marcbarker -> Access Runtime Question for the Scenario Viewer (12/31/2011 2:04:39 AM)

I have Access 2003 full addition VB6 Pro, I have created the DB and switchboard with the macros and modules etc. How do I convert my database to a functional exe for all to use. This is in reference to my scenario viewer and Order of battle Tie in? any help would greatly be appreciated.

Marc

I am sorry I cannot help you further. It seems the Access runtime is/was available via MSDN subscription. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access-help/obtain-and-deploy-the-access-2003-runtime-HA001120886.aspx

Do you know of any Visual Basic programmer's forums, maybe they could point you towards a solution?

Not sure if it does it is a subscription service to a download site. Thanks anyways

If you can convert it to Access 2007/2010 you can then download the runtime (For free) then anyone who doesn't have a copy of Access can run your db file.

it is 2003, about 300 mgb database, graphic intensive, fluid command button structure

Like many things in life, size doesn't matter.

You need to find someone who has Access 2007/2010. Open the DB then save it in the new .accdb format, then you can use it with the freely distributable runtime.
If the DB runs in Acess 2003 i'm pretty confident it will run in 2007/2010.

runs like a champ. start the scenarios in all 3 games, battle cards display, scenario info pops up. This application work very well with 2 monitors.
