It would be interesting to have the ability within a hex to bomb areas of teh hex, port airbase factories etc... with land units
ok.. so this will be found in witpV lol

Ah, land artillery being able to close an air field, or sink ships in port... that would be so nice...

Its an interesting proposal but as along as a hex is 40 square miles large, IŽd vote no.

I believe the hexes are closer to 1386 miles^2.[:'(]

Nautical Miles at that! One statute mile equals 0.86897624 Nautical miles...

ok.. If my troops number 100k in manilla and his too, is it too hard to imagine at some point my long range artillery could hit a building in port or a runway?

LoBaron -> RE: just a thought (1/5/2012 5:26:11 AM)

Ok, I might look very stupid now, but I donŽt understand. 1386 miles^2?
Please enlighten. [:)]

Yes, and in your described situation this should be possible. But it is a single situation opposed to many possible, and
youŽd enable it for all situations.
Land combat is not very complex (compared to naval and air) and highly abstract (as far as terrain and frontline is concerned).
I think the land combat model needs more finesse to enable such an option to be integrated successfully and plausible,
without creating exploits.

In our case n = 6 and r = 20 nautical miles.
