stone10 -> Freezing when loading MP for me (1/7/2012 5:12:25 AM)

I got the same problem as describe in this thread:
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2996918

I tried on two of my computer, none of them work. Both of them got the same freezing problem.
It looks like the game does not like 64bits system, because both of my two computers is 64bits.

doomtrader -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/7/2012 12:24:34 PM)

Stone, all my computers are using 64 bits and it is fine, so I don;t think this is an issue.

IIRC you have been playing MP games before, does something changed?

stone10 -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/7/2012 6:29:19 PM)

The game runs perfectly fine until yesterday I got this issue.

doomtrader -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/7/2012 7:46:08 PM)

Did you loaded any new software? Updated something?

stone10 -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/7/2012 8:48:51 PM)

I downloaded a bunch of new staff on one of the computer. Both of my two computers probably updated to newer version of windows system.

doomtrader -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/7/2012 9:06:01 PM)

Are you able to check what was updated lately?

I checked both of the computers, no update was installed recently.

By the way, I got a new problem. Sometimes I can enter the game for unknown reason. When the loading bar is full, the game freezes. I then kill the program with task manager. And then if I launch the game again, start the game, I can enter the game if I'm lucky. I can play the game as usual, but there is a new problem: I can't upload my turn. If I click save or quit, it always tell me connection fails. If I click on end turn, it always says it's impossible to upload the turn, check your connection first.

doomtrader -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/8/2012 10:13:09 AM)

Is it possible that your antivirus program updated recently?
Could you please turn it off and then try again?

I always turn off my antivirus program before play MP game because it doesn't allow me to upload things.

This is a nasty situation. However we have already tweaked the tread here and there, but this is just searching in the dark.

What comes to my mind is a standard tip:
Reboot your PC, turn off all process in the background which are no needed to be played during the game.

OK. I use game booster to turn off all unnecessary in the background. The chance of freezing is much lower now. However, I still can't upload anything. It always says "connection fails" or " It's impossible to upload the save file, check you connection first, would you like to try again?"

doomtrader -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/8/2012 10:36:21 PM)

What is the type of your internet connection? Personally I live on the countryside and I'm using only mobile, so even the one with external antenna is causing similar issues.

Grimnirsson -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/8/2012 10:54:27 PM)

I wonder what chances do you actually have then to include a solution/fix for this in the coming patch if this is indeed all guessing/'searching in the dark?

I suppose it wouldn't be such a bad idea to see what you can do and then send us the pre-patch fixes to see if it actually solves the problem on the computers that do have this problem.

DSL

Grimnirsson -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/13/2012 11:16:42 AM)

Same here, DSL 16000 and we play online with the Xbox 360, no issues with that. It can't be the connection that is causing the freeze.

doomtrader -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/13/2012 11:26:46 AM)

ok, thanks for the feedback

Hiimori -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/26/2012 7:07:51 PM)

Without the beta patch, I couldn't play MP games at all (I could set up the game and play my first turn, but I couldn't load my opponent's turn because I got an endless red loading bar). I described the problem in length in the Slitherine Forum here: http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30931

I get the impression that this forum is more lively, so I'm cross-posting my experiences with the patch here.

At first, when I installed the beta patch, I actually could load my opponent's turn for the first time in my life. Then we set up another scenario (Operation Overlord) and he (Grimnirsson) made his first turn as the Axis. Now it's my turn, but unfortunately, I cannot load my turn - I get the endless red loading bar again.

I tried several times, I always had to kill the game with the task manager. I also get a Windows error message that ToF.exe doesn't respond anymore. I appears - contrary to our first impression from the beta version - that the patch didn't solve my problem.

I didn't change anything (no hardware, no software, no current updates), I have ADSL 16.000+ and I can play other games (Battle Academy, TOAW III) just fine.

I hope there is a solution to my problem; we bought the game only because we wanted a strategic MP game and now this aspect of the game is useless for both of us.

doomtrader -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/27/2012 9:56:16 AM)

Hiimori, for testing purposes, please turn off your antivirus software.
I see that you have the fast connection, are you locally using a cable or wi-fi?

doomtrader -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/27/2012 1:48:22 PM)

when the game hangs, after you kill the process, could you please send me the ConsoleOut.txt file?
it is located in my documents/my games/time of fury/ folder

Hiimori -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/27/2012 6:25:06 PM)

I turned off all Antivirus and Antispy protection, but I still got the never ending loading bar, so I had to kill the game with the task manager.

My internet connection is Wifi.

I just sent you the ConsoleOut.txt file.

stone10 -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/30/2012 11:05:03 PM)

stupid question: can I continue my 1.0 game with the new 1.01 patch?

Grimnirsson -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/30/2012 11:06:47 PM)

Is this really the right place to ask that question? [&:]

stone10 -> RE: Freezing when loading MP for me (1/30/2012 11:19:13 PM)

Ok, never mind. I'll just wait for future patches.
