Tomatoes -> Colony Population Policy (1/11/2012 1:47:54 PM)

Hi guys

I have been lurking around the forums for a few weeks now and thought i would get myself signed up.

I have been playing DW for about 6 weeks (but i have played it HARD! 7-8 games 2 full games

I just updated to Legends the other day.

I have a question regarding the Colony Population Policy

I really like this as it gives a more real touch to the game and stops my empire getting populated with evil races (that dont want to be part of my race) that my people dont like

Playing as Humans

I currently have 2 Sluken Penal Colonies. Inderpendants that i took over. Which work fine....lots of productivity and no breeding slukens. Just more humans moving in

In my mass colonization I send a colony ship from one of these worlds to make a colony.

I tried to enslave the 30M pop but they started to not pay taxes and looked like a revolt so i went back to assimalate. Thing is I dont want them here but am unsure how i can resolve this?

My other issue is I have colonys on borders with 3-4 empires.

These colonys have about 200M Guzarian and 854M other (or something like that)

my question is I want to get rid of all the insects in my main worlds because when I eventually go to war with them I dont want troublesome colonys.

Other than Humaniods i cant specify a particular group.

I dont want to turn an "other" populated planet to a Penal Colony because I think every empire in the galaxy would hate me for inslaving thier people (the slukens i dont mind)

What im trying to achive is 3-4 penal colonies with insects on and lots of garrison troops to quel any issues. Then I want to have all my other planets as mainly Human to stop any issues when it comes to waring neigbours

Currently you can't assign policies by race, however it has been requested several times and perhaps Elliot will implement it in some future update.

Yeah when I was searching I saw another thread that is alot of people saying they wanted this change.

I did have another query

The tick box for Penal Colonies?

Its not there. I can see from the screenshot in the galaxicopedia where it should be but its not.

Is this a bug? Am i missing something?

My final query i have looked hard for answer but i may need to do some old fashion testing.

The 50% bonus from slaves. If i have say 800m slukens enslaved by 180m kadians

Does the 50% bonus go to the whole 980m or just to the 180m kadians.

I just took the sluken homeworld with nothing but bugs on it....I wanna enslave the lot for the extra cash. But no point if i need "overlords" to reap the rewards.

From what I've observed slavery gives a boost to the overall gdp of the planet. I always RP that there are several thousands "overlords" and "slave masters" from my empires dominant race backed up by my troops if I decide to enslave a planet [:D]
