slaytanic -> army size calculator (1/13/2012 10:20:52 AM)

This is an excel file that automatically calculates current army force sizes for all nations. It calculates overall numbers based on unit composition, levels of each and real number of divisions. In-game unit numbers are misleading because a great deal of units is understrength. It's main purpose isn't cheating but an overall picture of how the game is balanced vs history.

How to use:
-put army sizes.xls anywhere
-find a save game folder you wish to use(probably in my games/time of fury)
-open air_units, land_units and naval_units.csv
-open army sizes.xls
-edit links-change source for all 3 files to point to your local air_units, land_units and naval_units.csv: the tricky part is excel won't offer you .csv files so you have to copy the full path of your land_units.csv and others and then paste it. You can find the full path of files if you click properties and then security

Next post is a screen from my game of april 1941

Each time you save game a game, the list will be re-updated. Just make sure NOT to save the game if you have your .csv files open

Is this situation developed from 1939 scenario?

Great job Slaytanic [:)]

Yes, started from German grand campaign. I was playing all the warring countries myself. All a part of playtesting for the mod I'm planning after the patch

doomtrader -> RE: army size calculator (1/13/2012 11:47:44 AM)

in your spreadsheet, are you also taking values from the country specific settings?

slaytanic -> RE: army size calculator (1/13/2012 12:04:16 PM)

Of course [:)]

Very interesting. Have you compared to historical sizes?

Razz1 -> RE: army size calculator (1/14/2012 2:17:03 AM)

Your tank number is adding all the trucks from motorized units.

Your multiplier number is subjective. Plus each country had different number of men, tanks, planes per size of unit.

However, for comparison between countries it okay.

A clever way to make a comparison. Good job.

@ gwgardner

As major nations are concerned, I'd say it's fairly similar to history. Some differences are maybe too many german tanks and too few submarines, but that's cause of my own production preference. Also I have no idea about minor countries but nothing seems out of the order

@Razz

I used the "tanks" column of consts.ini so no trucks there. Also I used country specific numbers from different consts. And what do you mean subjective? Nothing I calculated was subjective.
