mmarquo -> Ryazan Railroad (1/20/2012 1:34:02 PM)

A railroad runs east-west through Ryazan (116,53). A railroad ends in hex 116,51, across the Oka River, NW-NE of the city. This railroad does not enter the city.

Questions:

1. If the Axis converts rails in each of these hexes will they become connected on the RR grid even thought the image of the railroad does not cross the river?

2. It seems a bit odd that the railroad does not cross the Oka as the the NE-NW hex is otherwise empty except for the railorad which seems to end for no apparent reason rather than crossing the river into the town.

I just reconned Ryazan using Google Maps, and followed all of the railroads entering/leaving the city, a sure enough, no railorad seems to cross over the Oka. BTW, it is really very eye opening and interesting to look at Google Maps while looking at the WITE map - it opens up a whole new dimension to the experience.

Yes, there was no bridge. There was no bridge in Stalingrad as well, but we placed it on map to simplify the supply flow there.

Despite all the bitching that one encounters on the forum, in fact this game was marvelously well-thought out and researched.

I noticed this as well, and the in-game rail system does perform exactly as depicted on the map, and in reality.
