Bronze -> Unescorted Bombers - help needed! (1/21/2012 11:17:14 PM)

Playing early turns of GC challenging v5.53against the soviet AI (and getting my rear handed to me around Leningrad I might add) I keep getting hordes of my unescorted bombers shot down during the AI's turn (50-80 of my German bombers vs 5-15 enemy fighters/AI turn). At the end of my turn, my nearby fighters (9 hexes at the most) have less fatigue and movement than the bombers of the same Fleigerkorps. Yet when the AI does its turn, my ground support bombers are almost always flying unescorted and getting slaughtered! Anything I can do to prevent this besides turning Ground SUpport off (and against this new AI, I really need the air support)? How do I get these bombers escorted? Especially as they have less movement remaining than the fighters? WAD? (hope not) GREAT AI!!!

Hard to say, there could be various reasons for the fighters not flying. Ex. readiness vs pct to fly, supply levels (this one could be quite important, since you won't get any supplies at the enemy's supply phase)

You can attach a save, so I could take a look.

I found the issue due to which defensive (and much less so offensive) escorts can get greatly reduced, especially in battles with big amount of units involved. Will fix it in next release.

I can tell you more - WITE is first bug-free software on Earth. All issues reporting are intentionally "planted" to make it look as "continued support"..

Hurray - I seem to have either adequate escorts or none.
