backhuri -> stuttery whild playing game(scrolling, unit moving) (1/22/2012 1:18:59 PM)

when I played RotS, I was using laptop. anyway I bought a new desktop and I bought legends 3 days ago. the new desktop spec is much better than laptop(Win7 Home Premium, Intel Core 2 duo T7500 2.2GHz, 3G RAM, GeForce 8600M GT), so i expected the performance would be much better. but fps is lower than I expected. so i installed legends in my laptop and tested how high fps would be. and fps of legends in desktop is even lower than laptop's. I didn't know why so I searched lots of threads but i couldnt find the answer.
I think I tried everything what I can. please give me advices. dxdiag.txt is below the text.

Hello backhuri,

several other players also experience similar things. See this thread:

Is your laptop also on Win7? Are they both 32 or 64 bit?

win7 in laptop is 32bit. one thing I feel certain is playing legends in laptop is smoother than desktop's. i've attached dxdiag.txt of my laptop

well...i think i was wrong cause I've tested with same savedata in similar situation(in game) and it didn't show a remarkable gap.
in the situation of screenshot i've attached, fps of desktop was 29~35 and laptop was 19~35. fps is more dropped in some situation in laptop.
resolution is 1440x900. but i think it's natural that the performance of desktop has to be much better than laptop's and fps also has to be higher than laptop.
i'm not sure it is absolutely normal. is this normal?

Strange that you get max 35 fps on both systems. Do you have the fps limiter activated in the options?

Also, I have the feeling that the "delay and stutter", or the "lagginess" perceived by some users might not be related to fps. For me, for example, it feels awkward if I zoom out via mousewheel. Also it takes a long time (feels like a lag) to show certain overlays and the system nebulae.

As several people also have posted to have a "smooth game in all functions", I believe there are problems with certain software/hardware combinations.

it is playable though sometimes it's stuttery but sometimes it makes me annoying especially in war situation. i'm really wondering why it's happening cause i formatted the hard drive 3 weeks ago so there shouldn't be a problematical thing. maybe it's a hardware problem...perhaps i have to wait until something's gonna be changed...pc spec, patches...anyway thanks for your help BTJ[:)].
