torontorock -> Wierd Ai war declareing behaviour (1/25/2012 4:00:56 AM)

Just started playing AT again recently. One thing I've been noticeing is that when I play with the one town start option, practically all the Ai's declare war on me almost immediately for some reason whereas if I don't play with the one town start option, I can stay at peace with most Ai's no problem so I don't have to fight on every front. Since I like playing the one town start option, it makes it rather difficult unless I have a map position with a couple of good choke points that I can defend. Otherwise, I simply get swamped by figting 3,4 or 5 nations at the same time (and they aren't at war with anyone other than me). Anyone else notice this or know the reason for this behaviuor? Just wondering. Have a good day all :)

From my experience, AI war declaring behavior varies. I've played games where they all went to war with me in short order and in other games only one AI did initially. In my current one-town start game the AI are fighting each other but have yet to declare war on me. Don't quote me on it but it appears the AI don't seem to like the Sultinate regime and seem to declare war against it rather quickly. On the flip side, an AI Sultinate seems very war hungry.

With enough experience you should be able to handle up to at least 3 AI, even it they are all at war with you.
