When I can actually get the game to let me do an air drop of a Soviet Para Brigade, I am seeing huge loss rates in Li-2s. Even when the transports are heavily escorted AND even when no Axis interception is occurring the loss rates during combat unit para drop missions are staggering. The Li-2 loss rates are much-much greater than when these same aircraft are flying resupply missions. Just wondering why there is such a huge disparity in loss rates between these two -- relatively similar -- mission types?

My guess is they are flying many, many sorties in order to lift the unit. At the same time, damaging the planes is one of our ways of making it hard to do lots of airdrops.
