Josh -> RE: Can I play without production? (2/10/2012 2:00:58 PM)

Uhm no I don't think that's possible. But if you want to learn the game just play a few small random maps with AI-. Play some moves and learn while you're playing. Most important... well lots of "important" stuff to remember ofcourse, but say rather important is that every city/production center/factory has to be linked to an HQ (creating an HeadQuarter wll cost you 5 PP's) so that the things you produce (whether it be oil, troops, tanks, PP's whatever) has a place to go to, that is it is sent to that HQ. If a city/production centre/factory is producing something but there's no HQ linked to it, things will still be produced, but it will stay in that factory till it has an HQ linked to it. Same with units/counters. They need to be placed under an HQ to receive supply and HQ influence/bonus. You can identify the unit's HQ by looking at the color of the bar on the counter. Heck you can even change that color by clicking on that bar in the HQ counter, a pop up will appear so you can choose a brighter color. I do that for my most active HQ's, I make them bright red and yellow so I can see them easily on the map. Oh, and remember, there are no "super-units" no huge 10 Tiger Tank killer stack. Any unit can be defeated under the right conditions.
