this kinda stuff is good flavor to the game, but doesn't begin to simulate the historical occurences of ships finding a new rock. & we're also blessed that training losses are often very low, historically the phrase 'one a day at Tampa Bay' wasn't just a slogan, it was a true reflection of airgroup training losses. ops losses to airgroups, esp. those based on carriers or SoPac bases, are also v. low. while the game may throw you a random damage, just consider yourself lucky that it's not emulating the historical record. 'cos ships ran aground daily, & planes disappeared at a much higher rate than is represented in the game.
