Mobeer -> RE: Meus operations (3/2/2012 9:06:19 PM)

R5:
I've ignored all previous plans and sensible advice. Since the big Brazilian airports are busy, I am going for the bloodbath. Columbus USA here I come. Three new 737-300's are leased, I just need to hold on to long enough to receive them.

O2: Competing against Wolverine Air just on his Brazil route, using Cricket Air planes. I have to admit I wondered where all the young 707s were coming from.

Leasing:
The worst run companies in the world must be those doing the leases. I have been trying and failing to do the maths exactly. Even so, as far as I can see the leasing companies should be out of business. Their figures are terrible, especially if you also imagine that they need to borrow to buy the planes before they start leasing.

Cricket Update

This airline is doomed. The entire DC9-40 market his from his repo's. I have snagged 6 DC10 versions from his repo's. I do not see how he can survive losing all those money routes. So keep your eyes peeled every day for his nice planes. They are being repo'ed left and right.

Word to the wise, be careful with spending sprees........Cricket leased 150 DC10-30 new and another 75 DC9-40........he spent way too much money and his payroll is kicking his butt. Each month. Those DC10-30 cost about 5 mil each to lease from manufacturer and Dc9-40 another 2.2 mil each. LOL

Leasing to many planers, or buying too many planes after a player collapse and not placing then can hit you. First there is the increase in payroll plus there is all the training for those new employees.

The cricket may have bit off more than he can chew.

2ndACR -> RE: Meus operations (3/2/2012 10:26:47 PM)

Oh he did, and guess what date it is about to be.....the 16th of the month.

R5, I am about to close down the airline in Madrid......Will still be based in Spain but Madrid is getting hammered. Stand by for further details. Got to see if it lets me. Down right crazy.

Speedysteve -> RE: Meus operations (3/2/2012 10:28:06 PM)

Green Berg has been countered so far from TPS. He invaded about 30 of my routes where we're now in a price war. Stage 2 is to attack his soil in the US with 54 Tridents I just acquired......

2ndACR -> RE: Meus operations (3/2/2012 10:29:37 PM)

Well, the heck with it. I am staying in Madrid and going to fight right from the get go. Worst case I get clobbered. But it will be a glorious battle.

Glorious and deadly. Be sure to go down with your plane...

2ndACR -> RE: Meus operations (3/2/2012 11:20:04 PM)

I will, I surely will. So far there are 5 airlines HQ'ed in Madrid. All fighting for the same 2500pax route. I decided to slow down my flights to 2 a day on that one and sent 2 a day to Barcellona and another 3 a day to AGP. Only making 195,000 per day once it starts.

Green Bird has decided to mess with the European Alliance, well Speedy is pounding him, I just clobbered him and Ron Paul on 6 US routes. Buffalo sadly to say took one on the chin on 1 route. He is flying a ton of DC8-61 and 8-63.........he is going to learn to never fly those planes on any contested route. I underbid him by almost 100 bucks Y pax. I know for a fact the DC8 series has a very slim profit margin, and I am well within the "he aint making no money" zone.

Chijohnaok2 -> RE: Meus operations (3/3/2012 3:24:28 AM)

I just picked up 2 of Wolverine Air's 747-200B's.

He has 9 more left. He's dropped to 132 in the rankings.

Now to find a place to put them. [:D][:D][:D]

The fool Green Bird only checked about 15% of the routes I took back from him in EU. As such he's sitting in them with between 1 and 37% pax share and can't be making money on them. Time to start operations against Green Bird Orlando Hub.......

Speedysteve -> RE: Meus operations (3/3/2012 2:55:08 PM)

90% of Green Bird dominated routes from MCO have been taken over by me. Despite needing to lower prices to swamp the routes daily profit rose by a further $15M. Let's see how Green Bird reacts. If nothing majorly untowards happens I'll be gradually swamping other Green Bird routes in the US.

2ndACR -> RE: Meus operations (3/3/2012 6:29:09 PM)

Little upstart sons of guns......guess I will have to teach them that it is wise to fly under the radar until you have more than 3 planes and a net value of more than -2 mil......lets see how he likes flying routes at 10 dollars per seat 300 miles. I can afford the -40,000 per day on that route.

Chijohnaok2 -> RE: Meus operations (3/3/2012 8:13:00 PM)

I'm a late comer to the "Pound on Greenbird" offsensive but I will see what he has in LAS and jump on him there.

2ndACR -> RE: Meus operations (3/3/2012 8:18:47 PM)

He has a bunch out of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas. He is having a fit making any money on the routes I jumped. I hunted routes where he was using the DC8 series planes. They have such a high maint cost and slim profit margin that it is way to easy to make you lose money hand over fist. I have Tridents flying his routes that are making 10,000 per day. No way he is making any money on those routes unless he changes a/c on me.

I am out of decent long range a/c to really hurt him on his long haul routes where he is using them. He has a ton of the DC8-61 and 63.

I just picked up a crapload of CL-44s & IL-18Ds, all 4 years or younger. I will fly those against all his DC 8's and kick his ass.
I can simply match his price and be more profitable, or I have a large margin to undercut his prices and still make money.

Mobeer -> RE: Meus operations (3/3/2012 9:20:45 PM)

R05 plane market swamped!

2ndACR -> RE: Meus operations (3/3/2012 9:55:00 PM)

R5 or O2.........you cannot buy or sell any used a/c in R5 yet.

Chijohnaok2 -> RE: Meus operations (3/3/2012 10:01:49 PM)

Royal Jordanian undercut me on one route.

He apppears to fly all his routes out of AMM.

I will find every route he has and undercut him, just to put.

I have enough prop planes to make him bleed cash.

He is currently ranked 132, with 22,730 pax, and a fleet of 31 planes, including 4 747-200Bs, and 4 more on order.

Mobeer -> RE: Meus operations (3/3/2012 11:14:51 PM)

Was 02 - I'm getting confused

2ndACR -> RE: Meus operations (3/4/2012 1:23:39 AM)

LOL.....That is okay. It happens.

Well, I do not know who it is, but huge amounts of great a/c have been dumped on the market all day. So far, Air France has made out like a bandit. Total spent so far this game month.........4.7 billion........for this we have bought:

14 747-100
2 747-200B
30 DC10-30
15 Trident 3B

These are all bought and paid for. We also leased another 30 assorted prop planes less than 4 years old. This has allowed over 30 707-320 to be sold off or sent to the scrap bin. Another 8 mil a day profit was also gained today.

Congrats to you on breaking into the top 10 rankings.
And Buffalo Air is nipping at your heels into the 11th spot.

terje439 -> RE: Meus operations (3/4/2012 8:59:27 AM)

Ok, so TL-Lines have to keep adjusting their price because the following three airlines dip into our lines;
-Speedy Air
-Buffalo Air
-Air France

.....
Gee what partners [:D]

2ndACR -> RE: Meus operations (3/4/2012 1:13:46 PM)

You have to give me routes so I can back off the number of flights. It is easy to stomp a partner when adjusting over a thousand routes and have a ton under attack.

terje439 -> RE: Meus operations (3/4/2012 1:51:50 PM)

Nah no worries, just had to adjust the price a little, and with our combined AC we "own" the routes so do not sweat about it :)

Speedysteve -> RE: Meus operations (3/4/2012 2:57:52 PM)

Ditto. Please let me know if and which routes and I can back off. It's likely these are Green Bird routes. I'm determined to destroy him and am following him in every route except those he's already heavily contested in (i.e. this which it seems others are lowering prices to him).

He tried to fight back by lowering prices more on my TFS and his MCO routes. I simply shifted prices and in many cases swamped the route with other Trident, CL44 or TU114 planes to smash his PAX share. I've now started targeting some of his routes from Las Vegas.

Chijohnaok2 -> RE: Meus operations (3/4/2012 4:34:47 PM)

I noticed they are taking pre-orders on 747-SPs.

Have a longer range, more fuel efficient but with a lower passenger count so that you can utilize on long hauls where the passenger count is not huge.
Their runway requiremment is shorter as well (I think), so could even allow expansion into the 5000-6000 mile range routes that are going unserved in some cases.

Delivery won't be until 2006 but I ordered 10 of them.

2ndACR -> RE: Meus operations (3/4/2012 4:45:27 PM)

Yep, not sure if I am going to order any, They will probably get dumped all over the market like the others have been.

I got you in R5 Lurker. Chijohnaok far and away leads the pack in R5 in value, I am sucking hind tit and getting warning letters every day. LOL Finally just now approaching 1 mil a day. Seems to be a lot harder to make money on these planes in R5. Even though the fuel usage is so much better. Damn gate fees are killing me in Madrid. I will have to throttle down expansion from there and start launching from the other airports I have in Spain to better utilize the gates. Will be a long hard fight to build a terminal in Madrid.

Mobeer -> Status Update (3/4/2012 4:55:01 PM)

R5:
Wolverine Air are gone
Cricket Australia still limp along though they have not provided any hand-me-downs recently.

MEUS have a hub in Las Vegas, with a whole bunch of ex-Cricket, ex-Wolervine and ex-Air France planes in service now. No points for guessing who the rival is.

World Airlines have a few routes with precious few services on. MEUS decided to add their own flights after World Airlines failed to respond when fighting on the Brazil route that World Airlines shared with Wolverine.

A single Shorts 330 is on order - might even buy more later, but for now MEUS are a launch customer! If you want to imagine a Shorts 330 in your mind, picture a supersonic transport with 6 ramjet engines.

O2:
MEUS are based in the Central US, this should offer lots of passengers, if the competition stay away for a while - fingers crossed.

S1:
MEUS are based Alaska. The cold seems to have kept other airlines away. MEUS will try to fill out Alaska whilst others fight elsewhere.

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/4/2012 5:10:07 PM)

Sorry, not operating in S1 world so no help to you there.......You must be flying all those 707-320 I dumped earlier. In addition to the 60 or so 727-200 I dumped when I transitioned to Trident 3B across the board.

Alliance update, XL and Transair are hereby being warned for route invasions without prior notice to alliance members. Namely, they have both invaded routes of mine and massively undercut prices. Granted these were already contested routes, but they have not responded to previous inquiries by me. Further issues will have them terminated from the alliance and fair game for the alliance to go after. I hate to have to resort to this, but it is getting a little old with me. Each route that I have found where they entered massively, I have pm'ed them to let them know that they are underbidding me on said routes and what are their intentions. No response. I can handle giving up the fight for the route if they said they wanted it, I could reduce flights with prior notice. But to flat out now respond to an alliance member PM is grating on my nerves.

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/4/2012 6:19:38 PM)

Okay, another huge 747-200C dump allowed Air France to purchase another 2 bil in long range a/c.......Oakland, Cleveland and Houston Lobby received huge numbers of long range flights. Cleveland is about to receive HUB status for long range flights. it is also my primary DC10-30 HUB.

SO, heads up Chijohnaok, I am all over Cleveland for my long range flights. LOL

terje439 -> RE: Status Update (3/4/2012 6:21:04 PM)

R5

TL-Lines are struggeling. Had the world not been full, a bankrupcy would be filed. We can only hope that we can get into green soon...
