HITMAN202 -> German air doctrine (2/25/2012 2:24:13 PM)

I see the computer attack ground forces needlessly when I have more needs in the fight. If I set the air action to A-1 it seems to best to avoid senseless mission by putting all missions to 0% other than ground support/escort and night-fighter intercept.. ?????

If you think that the AI is launching too many of any type of sortie: I would lower the percentage of that type of mission. Also lowering the general percentage of aircraft to fly, would lower the mission number that were being launched.

Basicly put air interect at 160%ish

Turn off ground support, unless its some important hex you want to take during your turn.

Ground attack should be set at 5% and 20%.

If you need to pre bomb a hex to disrupt units it does not matter if you send in 500 planes or 15 planes, the results are basicly the same.

The 160% interecpt will get exp of fighters up allot during 41 and kill off all the enemy planes you need to.

Ground support if used I set at 300% and 300% after hitting the hex 3 to 5 times with 5% and 20% ground attack. You win almost every time even with 1v1 cv's. You lose some planes, but its generally worth the planes as you will have ground support off most of the time.

Some peeps like to turn ground support on during December 1941. 60% and 120%. Can be helpful if Russian player's air forse is junk by this time.

Basicly don't let computer do anything other then interecpt.

Pelton, thanks so much. This is stuff one can never learn on their own. Super !!!

Another dumb question. I tried test hitting a hex with a tiny air attack (3-5 times as you suggested) to see how weak of an assault force could succeed by setting the required to attack at 5% and ground support at 300 % and literally 250 planes hit the hex. How do I keep the attack at 15 planes or so. Sorry for my stupidity.

Ketza -> RE: German air doctrine (2/29/2012 1:47:16 PM)

Its been awhile but I believe you do a shift right click on the target hex and you then unselect all the units assigned to the attack. You then assign the individual squadrons.
