After building a wonder in a recent game I noticed in the description it says "also provides a scenery bonus", to me this means it will mean I can happily throw up a resort base and gain some extra much needed credits, however upon building a resort base and waiting for over a year I still see zero tourists at the base, and there is no scenery bonus on the actual planet.

Do wonders actually provide a mechanical scenery bonus or is it just extra rpg fluff in the description?

I am not familiar with that wonder. Which one is it?
Also where is the resort base? You know spaceports by default usually already have a recreation component so wouldnt having a resort base on that planet be redundant? Assuming there is no spaceport, if the planet is a colony would tourist still visit or just emigrate there? I dont know.

You only can build a wonder on a colony, and colonies dont need resort bases, thats why your resort base dont got any tourists.
Why you should watch the wonder from the orbite while you can land and go closes ? :-)

So are tourists temporarily added to a colony's population? I think not. As it stands the op raises some unanswered questions. Among them also how does tourism revenue get made at a colony? Does it?
Someone (ahem developers) needs to explain this. I dont recall any info from the galactopedia.

Just to add some more clairty to this issue to quote directly from the galactopedia. "Wonders are considered to be scenic locations, and thus will attract tourism to any colony that has them."

This implies either the spaceport will gain tourists, or a resort base will be populated with tourists or that the colony itself will gain tourists.

However none of these events have taken place, also when checking the empire summary screen I see my empire currently has zero tourism income. For this test I deliberatly did not build any resort bases anywhere in the universe as I wanted to make sure the income could only come from one possible source.

All this would imply that colony based wonderes do not seem to function 100% as they are listed?

Thanks for checking the docs. I assume there were passenger compartments on the spaceport? Could that be affecting it? Could it be possible the colony also requires a resort base (as in with that role specifically designated)?

The reason I ask is because with regular resort bases the tourist show up in the passenger compartments.

Edit sorry i missed that you said you tried a resort base. Yeah seems like a wtf to me.
