A B-25 from the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway airport has been flying over the area all afternoon. What a beautiful (and great sounding) aircraft!

Sabre's right, pictures *and* sound please. [;)]
Well okay a quick google search gave me this old clip, here you go, oh and turn the volumeknob to extra loud... hehe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCYGdYAalDI

(A bit OT but I live near an military airbase, and the sound of modern jets doesn't even come close to the oldies... I mean sometimes I can't even hear my telly when they take off ...!! or when I sit in my car it just shakes from the violence of the sound. No, piston engines any time for me!)

Still ashame though you haven't got a cam.

Actually I do have an old pentax? circa 1972 that I used to shoot pictures when I was an army grunt in Germany. But I think Kodak is now out of the film business [:)] I also have a camera on my cell phone for emergency use.

Fortunately, there are two Phoenix, Az. airports close to me that reguarly have B-25, B-17, B-24, etc. type aircraft in the air. Mesa, Az.'s Falcon Field had one of the only flyable Heinkel HE-111 at one time (since lost in an air crash). The HE-111 was the most exciting plane to watch and hear, particuarly on takeoff.

Gosh, those planes own soul

Is it looking for Tokyo?

I can still remember the sound of a spitfire flying over a RAF in the UK base while I was visiting. The Gulf War had just broke out and the Tornados were taking off day and night but that lone Spitfire was the best.

I live near a training base where pilots are trained to fly helicopters and regularly/daily a big german cargo plane (prop machine)flys directly over my house. Traing too I think, because they circle quite a bit.
