So is Matrix trying to secure publishing rights to any more of these babies?

You already have three great recent titles (AI War, Armada 2526, and Distant Worlds) under your belt, plus the older (but well-received) Starships Unlimited v3. Surely that's enough to garner at least a modest reputation for publishing games in this genre; I'd love to see more!

Are there any more?

These days with kickstarter and the way the Indie scene is going I can imagine it's going to get harder and harder to sign up small developers as many would rather self publish I expect.

Matrix also has AI War which is a good game.

Star Ruler is very good. It started out needing many things fixed, but the developers stayed true to their word and kept improving and fixing the game and it is excellent now. You can get it at Gamersgate.

Master of Orion 2 is a great game. Old, but still more less playable.

Doh! I forgot about that one. Thanks for reminding me. [Goes to edit OP]

Yeah, I've had my eye on Star Ruler for some time. I've heard it's now vastly improved over its original release state (from playing the demo at the time, even calling it a beta would've been charitable), so I may have to go back and pick it up.

I know I'll get flamed for this, but I didn't find MOO2 to be that great myself. I actually owned the game at one point, but quickly got bored with it and gave the copy to my brother.

I don't know why I wasn't enthralled with it -- I'm well aware it remains the "gold standard" of 4x games -- but it just didn't grab me for some reason.

I bought Star Ruler when it first came out and after seeing how unfinished it was, put it away. A year later I tried it again after reading that it had been improved. It sure has been improved. The game is excellent now. Good fast support in the forums too.
