ORIGINAL: Crossroads I did not have a chance to watch the race today. Seems Bottas 2.0 was downgraded to Bottas 1.5? warspite1 My feeling is that Valtieri is driving really well at the moment. But the huge gap in qualifying really hurt Lewis - even though he had some mitigants. Lewis just drove as though he was going to make up for it. To be TWO SECONDS faster than anyone else on the first lap after the safety car says a lot about his state of mind. So I would not blame Bottas as much as hail Lewis' performance today. Lewis quite something isn't he. Hopefully he continues for a good few years, so whoever will be the Next Big Thing will have to race him. warspite1 The next big thing is already here.... make no mistake, Max Verstappen is (all things being equal) going to be a multiple world champion and - given his age - all records are there for the taking. He is a truly special driver. Charles Leclerc meanwhile is showing a good turn of speed. He's making a lot of mistakes at the moment but that can be forgiven given that he is so young and inexperienced. Furthermore, because he drives for the Prancing Horse, his errors are magnified. I'd go with Verstappen as well. In addition to his skills he's got the, what's should I call it, well sheer arrogance that seems to be required to stay at the very top there.
