moose1999 -> Sudden lag halfway through turn one [SOLVED] (3/25/2012 5:09:08 PM)

I'm halfway through turn one as Germany in the grand campaign - and all of a sudden everyting has slowed down considerably.
There is lag when I scroll the map and small delays when clicking on stuff and opening menus.
Movement animations have also slowed down (even though I set it on 0.0)
It feels like the framerates have suddenly dropped.
I have restarted the computer and tried starting a new, smaller scenario.
Same thing.
The game is close to unplayable like this - can anybody help?

EDIT:

By the way - theres no lag or delays when in the game menu or the prefences screen and such.

What version are you using? Do you have a save file that repeats the lag?

No save file, I'm afraid.
Overwrote it because I'm an idiot.

But I have a small correction - it's not true that its the same thing with a small scenario.
I just fired up the tutorial mini-scenario - and everything is completely fluid there.
So maybe some kind of optimization trick could help me here...?

Solved.
The lag and general slowdown was due to the fact that I had chosen "units attached" as soft factor.
Soon as I put it on something else, everything is smooth as silk.

OK, I'll try to reproduce that. Thanks.

Fyi, I get that too in a consistent basis when I switch to other windows and then back to game (I keep a lot of notes and spreadsheets etc...).

When scrolling and clicking slows down, I zoom out and zoom in using my mouse scrollwheel, and it fixes that in a second. I never reported, as it only takes a second to fix it.
