Okay, we're playing DaBabes(I think its the Lite version), one of the Betas from last Autumn. Combined Fleet returned to Truk a month back, and begun its repairs... I had many ships with 1 or 2 engine damage after the early war action and lots of cruising around. I used the repair ship there to get them fixed, but it took some time.

However, I now have 2 ships stuck with damage and they refuse to repair, after weeks of waiting. These are a BB and a DD. They have engine damage so only repair ship will fix them up, estimated repair time is stuck at 1 day. I've tried to set them to readiness and back, both and one at a time... And I'm about to give up and just send them to Tokyo or somewhere. I hope this doesnt mean that the repair ship will not fix anything any more.

Any ideas? I cant send screenshots and save file if needed.

Nobody? [&:] After the 3rd try the other ship finally got itself repaired. The DD however is still stuck at 2 engine damage. I'm having it go readiness, put in TF, disbanded and put back in the repairs(repair ship) every 4 days...

i'm guessing that you're in early '42? Truk is port size 4 or 5?

you need to get Truk's port built-up, also ARs can't repair major engine damage > 5 for a DE or larger ship.

there's a speed-factor to ship repairs, prob'ly determined by its armor & maybe also by its displacement - BBs take ages to repair, while a DD w/ the same numerical damage points can be repaired much faster.

Are you looking to reduce all damage to 0? this might not be the best way for early-war IJN. ships w/ single-digit damage are still very combat-capable, they should be on combat ops until they're due to upgrade and/or have accrued enough damage to be sent to an HI shipyard. if you focus on repairing to pristeen naval-review condition, you're wasting time.

is Truk well-supplied? is the AR loaded w/ supply?

Hey;

The problem isnt Truk or the AR not being able to repair the ship. Its that the estimated repair time left is stuck at 1 day but nothing happens. The same AR has before fixed a number of other ships(including BBs) so it most definitely should work.

I agree its no biggie, but what I'm afraid of is that this will repeat in the future either at Truk again or somewhere else, and in a time I'd really need to get my ships repaired. I still suffer from the fuel use bug I previously reported on the forums at some ports... It could be that the save file is corrupted. [:(]

Hello Michaelm,

Heres the save file. Now it seems that the last ship has also begun its repairs. But I still fear the save might be corrupted and it might happen in the future.

I also do still suffer from the fuel use bug... Shortly put, some TFs that are in port use fuel, even if they happen to be docked. There doesnt seem to be any relationship to TF size, TF type, ship types or the port having mines or not. I had a 1-ship xAK TF docked at an island in the Philippines to run itself dry, a CVTF do it at Truk(and 1 still doing it at Singapore), a CA squadron at Rabaul and some others. Disbanding and reforming TFs helped a couple of times, and a couple of times it didnt. I dont want to disband some TFs as I have used PPs to assign leaders... And then I have that BBTF near Honshu you should be able to find that has stood there for months and not used a litre of fuel. It cant even not dock at that port size 1 base. [sm=00000028.gif]

(Or if its not a bug I havent seen it happen in my previous games, the manual says nothing about it and I have no idea what triggers it. [:D])

The last DD repaired. The repair points on the ship screen should have been going up as it repaired.

Notice the save is from an earlier beta. Have you tried latest patch? The CVTF in Singapore didn't seem to use any fuel in the turn I just ran.
TFs with operational air groups will use fuel in ports - simulates flight ops outside port I believe

Hmm... Interesting. When I ran the save it took 2 more turns for the DD to get repaired.

Would you agree that the version of the game(as in some features unique to the version and/or errors fixed in later ones) would be the probable source of these issues?

I'm aware that TFs that do air ops burn fuel... But many TFs that did that had no planes flying. And I have plenty of undocked TFs that fly their search planes and dont burn fuel. I will have to discuss about upgrading to one of the later betas with my opponent.
