Empire101 -> RE: Land of The Giants (5/4/2012 12:13:30 PM)

The American fortifications are down to 1.... it won't be long before Bataan falls...

Empire101 -> RE: Land of The Giants (5/4/2012 12:15:47 PM)

The Siege at Peking reduces Chinese fortifications to 1..... they must fold soon.

A Chinese unit has also outflanked the besiegers at Peking, so I have a little bandit unit to eliminate as well!!

The Chinese dragons are begining to crumble

Empire101 -> RE: Land of The Giants (5/4/2012 1:00:39 PM)

My fledgling airforce finally gets its act together and scores some hits on the defenders at Bataan.

Empire101 -> RE: Land of The Giants (5/4/2012 1:01:50 PM)

110 casualties and two guns lost... not bad considering they are virtually chucking large grenades out of the cockpits!!

The Fall of Bataan is captured on camera.....Japan goes wild with delight as the last of the Yankee imperialists are ejected from the Philippines... Ladies faint all over Japan in the excitement!!!!

Empire101 -> RE: Land of The Giants (5/4/2012 1:14:35 PM)

Forts Mills, Frank, Drum, Hughes & Wint are stormed by elements of the Imperial Guards, and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Cavalry Divisions.
Fierce fighting ensues, but the defending fortifications are reduced to matchwood by the bombarding Japanese Artillery.

The defence crumbles as 9th, 12th and 15th Divisions mop up the starving remnants of the defending force

resend the turn, you've sent the wrong one! [:)]

Empire101 -> RE: Land of The Giants (5/4/2012 1:26:55 PM)

Score as at 3rd August 1926.

The Imperial High Command is feeling quite pleased with itself. In just two months, Manchuria has been occupied, the US have been ejected from the Philippines and Japanese troops are besieging Peking ( to which a man in a bar says will fall any day now.)

I think I will send a diplomatic note to Washington to see if they wish to sign an Armistice, with Japan annexing Manchuria and the Philippines, whilst being granted exemplary trade and military rights in China.

I wonder what Torsten will think of that!![:D]

And so, Japan gets its answer from the Imperialist warmongers.

I shall now deliver to the American aggressors part II of the Japanese master plan...

The tensions within the HQ of the Entente are really high and several parties try to promote an intervetion to help China.

To:- The American Government

From:- The Japanese Government.

Date: 4th August 1926

The Japanese Government appeals to its Western allies that Peking is the last territorial demand that Japan will make in China.

It is the hope of the Japanese people that peace and stability will be returned to the regions after the Western Capitalist Aggressors ( ie The United States of America ), come to their senses and sign a peace treaty with the Japanese Empire.

signed

Okuma Shigenobu

The Prime Minister

My opponent again displays the ethos of the Royal Navy, 'engage the enemy more closely', and the Japanese Navy is again left looking foolish.[sm=sad-1361.gif]

That 'horrible' TF sails into Pescadores, ignores the minefields and blasts some refueling DD's on ASW duty to kingdom come!!!.

DD Yomogi plants a torpedo into Arizona and lands a few feeble 6 inch shells as well before valiantly slipping beneath the waves, followed by the DD13, although DD15 escapes.

Oh well, you live and learn.[:(]

Japanese Naval Intelligence Report

Forward to: The Emperor, Prime Minister, Japanese War Cabinet...

Date:- 5 August 1926

At last a clue to where those US warships are refuelling....could it possibly be Hong Kong???

Naval Intelligence recommend action to be taken to stop refuelling.

Signed

Japanese Naval Intelligence

Date 5th August 1926

It seems the American Fleet are heading Westwards towards Hong Kong. The Government will have to act, to ensure that Great Britain does not help the Americans by allowing their fleets to rearm and refuel in neutral ports.

According to international law, war parties are allowed to enter neutral ports. This was done, for example, when the German East Asia Squadron visited Valparaíso in 1914.

I am not lawyer but i think they can use neutral port for no longer than 24h, they can resupply but not war materials like ammo etc. They can do repairs but only on minimal level allowing them to return to sea.

Also neutral port side can have more rules.

On September `39 Polish SS "ORP Orzeł" (Eagle) enter port of Tallinn (Estonia was neutral those days) to refuel and resupply. They where forced to give all weapons (torpedoes, shell etc and most of fuel) and sub was intern in harbor.

Polish crew took two Estonian soldiers as hostages (later send them ashore to Sweden with money and food) and escape to England.

Taking Orzeł intern and later escape was use by Soviets and Germans to question Estonian neutrality

Thats how I understood it. Another example is the Graf Spee at Montevideo. She could effect repairs only in that neutral port.

Also
If in neutral port are ships of both fighting sides , first ship leaving must have 24h head start. And all ships captured by fighting sides on waters of that neutral side must be surrendered to that neutral side

Empire101 -> RE: Land of The Giants (5/4/2012 9:43:57 PM)

And so dear reader, Japan reaches a cross-roads in the Far Eastern War.
With The Great Manchurian Adventure over and the Philippines 'liberated', a decision had to made.
Was Japan going to sit back and fortify her hard won aquisitions, or was she going to push on, to further cement her victory, or to court unparalleled disaster.......only time would tell.
