What do the different colors when on the skills in the pilot listings? brown, green, and white....

Green means the pilot gained experience or skill that turn. Orange means the pilot gained experience or skill that calendar month. White is for not gains but an active pilot. Grey is for pilots in group reserve.

Dan when you say month, is that defined as the last 30 days or month- meaning the first day of the month it resets? I didn't take notice.

Calendar month means during the current month. You will notice that on the first turn of a month, there will be no orange colored pilot stats.
