Ya gotta love the comment section trolls. [8|]

I respect these boys for doing their duty but I'm on the side of Japan.

Do you know why the US Fleet didn't send carriers into the Atlantic to save Europe? - Because they feared the German wolfpacks.

Many years later, in 2001, a single German submarine (U-24) broke through the defense line of a whole American carrier group, locked on the USS Enterprise, simulated a torpedo shot and surfaced next to it afterwards.

Prove enough?

Because a German sub penetrated a US carrier screen in 2001, the US Navy was terrified to send it's carriers to the Atlantic from 1941-45.

Great video, not seen some of the footage before.

Thanks for sharing.

Knavey -> RE: Found on youtube (4/15/2012 5:37:36 PM)

Some good footage in there. And yes, there is a tremendous amount of ignorance in the comments section of that video.

koniu -> RE: Found on youtube (4/15/2012 5:39:48 PM)

Any link to video available in Europe?

Terminus -> RE: Found on youtube (4/15/2012 5:40:48 PM)

Well, the youtube comments section was never IQ Central... Unless we're talking IQ's of 30 or below...

Mac Linehan -> RE: Found on youtube (4/15/2012 6:43:12 PM)

btbw -

I would have to say that this video - actually a collage of film shorts - was exceptionally well done; utterly gripping and perhaps one of the best representations of true combat action in the Pacific that I have ever seen. A "well done" to the individual who put it together, the music was perfectly matched to the action on screen.

I have a renewed respect and appreciation for the men and women who served in that conflict.

Thank You for the link and opportunity to see this amazing film footage.

Mac

Sredni -> RE: Found on youtube (4/15/2012 6:55:34 PM)

Why would that video get censored? It just seemed like a normal "ra ra! america!" type video with a bunch of (nice) ww2 footage of american ships and planes set to inspirational music heh. Nothing objectionable imho.

Because my government takes good care of me and doesn't want me to see anything that might not be good.
Its nice to have such a nanny as a grown man. I can't have enough bureaucrats telling me what's good for me!

Footslogger -> RE: Found on youtube (4/15/2012 8:02:38 PM)

I was all eyeballs on that treasure chest of a video!! Thank you btbw!![&o][&o][&o]

Hopefully, with "Hidemyhass", I was able to see this vid... and I still don't understand why it's not allowed to see it in France [sm=nono.gif]

Very nice video, thanks sharing this link ;)

koniu -> RE: Found on youtube (4/16/2012 7:21:27 AM)

I think video is banned in Europe and North Korea [:'(]

noguaranteeofsanity -> RE: Found on youtube (4/16/2012 8:04:50 AM)

Apart from political censorship of Nazi related material, which happens in France and Germany, there is also GEMA (Gesellschaft für musikalische Aufführungs- und mechanische Vervielfältigungsrechte), which is an organisation that collects royalties for musicans in Germany. They have had a falling out with youtube after demanding more money for each video watched, which has seen a lot of youtube videos blocked, if they contained any music at all, pending a court case.

This situation is made worse by some strange case law based on GEMA being a monopoly, called GEMA Vermutung, where the burden of proof is reversed and all published musical works are presumed to be managed by GEMA in Germany, unless you can prove otherwise.

Neither make a whole lot of sense given the video in question, but is probably due to one or the other.

Dili -> RE: Found on youtube (4/16/2012 11:24:25 AM)

Nice Video. No blockage in Portugal.

Blocking by GEMA is annoying, but understandable. But if blocked due to GEMA, it says so. So this video is blocked for political reasons, propably because the publisher has also uploaded a lot of 3rd Reich Videos.

Still, as stated above. I get mad each time my government decideds for me what is good and what is not suited for me... [:@]
