Is there any way to substitute or alter the physical race colors used in the game? For instance, changing the shocking pink color to a more subtle tone? Or say changing pink to gray? (not talking about changing empire colors in the editor- I mean changing the actual colors used as choices...)

Hello Shinobu;

In the modding/customization guide there is a page with the color codes. You can
change / alter race colors within the race.txt file itself.
