ORIGINAL: TulliusDetritus But of course no goal can -possibly- surpass... er... Maradona's goal... 1986. Although you were on the receiving end, eh... It has everything... especially countries rivalry (first match between the two countries after the Falklands War if I remember correctly). And after all they got the WC that year: the infamous Maradona's hand that is [:D] Warspite1 That goal was quite simply, sheer. football. genius. Maradona won the World Cup almost single-handed (and unlike 1978 this win was not tainted by the stench of bribery and match fixing). The fact he scored that cheated "goal" in the same match, obviously over-shadows the victory somewhat (certainly as far as the English are concerned) but cannot take away what Maradona achieved in 1986. One of the all-time greats of the game.
