I'm looking forward to the game as well [:)]

Meanfcker -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/7/2012 12:08:46 PM)

Hi JReid, welcom to the pit. It is too bad Kraftwerk has declined the opportunity to avenge himself on me, he certainly has motive. Good game Kraftwerk, I hope that we haven't put you off of playing with us again. We tried to help prepare the Watchtower team for our last game, but I guess that we have to be seen to be believed. I suggest that JReid familiarize himself with our Operations folder. That being done, this time everyone knows what to expect. I really hope that the Watchtower team is able to emulate and even improve upon our command and control system. We may be in for a good tough fight. Good luck and have fun.
Meanfcker.

jreid -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/7/2012 6:42:47 PM)

Thanks, glad to join in the fun [:)]

Please PM me your e-mail addresses and I'll invite you to join the Drop Box folder I crated for the game.

I created a map with the following settings.

I tried about 10 times before I saw a map where a country was not split up into differenet parts. That was my only condition for the map.

Around the 5th try, a map was created that had each country whole, but all of the forest was located along the bottom of the map and the top 80% was plains. And one country was located along the entire bottom edge with this massive forest.

So, I thought that was bogus so I kept generating maps until I saw another unbroken country map.

I'm not very good at screenshots yet, but I posted a couple of them to dropbox along with a readme.txt explaining where each country is on the minimap.

Settings:

XX- Large
6 Nations
No Oceans
Map Loop
No Shroud (but Fog of War on)
Full Nations
Hidden Stats
User Resources
Full Climate
Fog of WN
No PBME protection (I read that you guys didn't use this. I've opened and closed the first turn several times aleady to get screenshots, so I hope it works, It didn't ask me for a password the second time, which concerned me).
Passwords
Mirrorish
Pangeaic contitents

Tac2i -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/7/2012 7:05:43 PM)

Couple of things:
1) didn't realize we were using a mirror map.
2) on a no ocean map, selecting pangaeaic continents has no affect (I don't think)

re item 1: do we wish to keep this map or redo it without mirror?

If we wish to have standard size screenshots vice the default mini-hex, we should create a map using my zoom mode mod.

UPDATE: Having just run several maps myself, it is no easy thing to get a map all would feel is fair. Either you get nations cut in two or three parts and/or at least one capital is very exposed.

jreid -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/7/2012 8:52:46 PM)

Yeah, I was creating maps without mirror first and couldn't get a map where all countries were one piece.

I remembered that Mean said something about Mirrored. When I added that, there was a much greater chance of countries generating in one piece.

Also, the map is so big and it's one big continent, it's not really obvious, at least to me, that it's mirrorish.

I think it looks pretty good.

Meanfcker -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/7/2012 9:05:37 PM)

I haven't seen the map yet. I normally do not use mirrorish but I will rely on Jreid's judgement. I am sure that he is a man of honor. I only try to make sure that the game is decided by the players more than the map. I sent all of our emails to Webizen.
Meanie.

jreid -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/7/2012 9:17:15 PM)

Cool. It was the best I saw after 10 or so tries. I also want the map to be fair. There are some pros and cons for both sides, I think.

But when you see it, let me know.

If I missed somethign or it is poor, then we can restart.

jreid -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/7/2012 11:07:42 PM)

Dropbox invites sent to the Mean, Dan and Shade.

jreid -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/8/2012 1:15:33 AM)

Ive played my turn and posted to dropbox (folder MeanVsGood I).

Good luck everybody [:)]

Borrowing from other games, I've used the name convention (this seems more involved than it really is):

jwamds001-to-web

j = jeff
w = web
a = allan
m = mean
d = dan
s = shade

So, this means turn1 and it's web's turn.

When web finishes, he would name his save game jwamds001-to-allan.

When shade finishes Turn 1, he would name his save game jwamds002-to-jeff.

Meanfcker -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/8/2012 5:46:36 PM)

I am not sure what is going on, but I still haven't recieved invite to dropbox.

jreid -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/8/2012 10:30:35 PM)

You and Dan showed "still waiting" when I looked in Dropbox. The others have joined.

I re-invited you and Dan. Let me know if you get it (or don't).

I copied the e-mail address you sent me, but perhaps I messed something up.

Meanfcker -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/8/2012 11:08:18 PM)

perhaps just email me directly and then I can reply and that should take care of it.

jreid -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/9/2012 12:59:05 AM)

Ok, third time's a charm. Let me know if there is still an issue.

Tac2i -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/11/2012 4:34:00 PM)

I hope to have my first turn done tonight but I'm kinda pressed for time right now. That said, I'm excited about this rematch!

Tac2i -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/12/2012 4:09:18 PM)

Turn to Allan...  what ya gonna do when the bad boys come for ya? Gonna put the hammer to you meanies! [8D]

jreid -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/13/2012 1:04:01 PM)

Turn to Mean.

Let us know what you guys think of the map.

As I mentioned, I tried about 10 times to get a map where every country was "whole". Countries are not split into pieces.

Other than that, I didn't use any other conditions.

Meanfcker -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/14/2012 4:56:36 PM)

Hi guys,
I have been busy with 3 day drinking tournament and fishing binge, or so my wife says. Anyway, I hope to do my turn within the next day or so
Meanie.

Meanfcker -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/17/2012 2:31:30 AM)

Ok I have had a good look at the map. Its a beauty! En Garde! I must apologize for my tardiness. This has been a ridiculously busy couple of weeks and the next week is bad as well. I will endevor to complete my turn tomorrow but that depends on what my Supreme Commander has to say about it, she is feeling negected and all that. If not tomorrow then Thursday at the latest.
Meanfcker.

Meanfcker -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/20/2012 2:32:00 PM)

Turn completed and put in dropbox for next player.
The map is very defensive in nature.This is going to be a real knife fight.
Good luck and have fun.
Meanfcker.

Meanfcker -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (10/22/2012 2:46:27 AM)

Turn 3 completed and posted to Webizen.

Meanfcker -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (11/18/2012 3:38:27 PM)

Any one know whats up with Allan?
If he is going to be too long, perhaps one of you might take his turn?
Meanfcker

jreid -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (11/18/2012 6:05:53 PM)

Allan can post details but he is occupied at the moment [:)]

He mentioned he'll get to the turn on Tuesday.

jreid -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (11/26/2012 3:30:11 AM)

A very minor thing, but we're still on turn 3 but the turn number in the name of the file in dropbox was saying 4.

So, I renamed jwamds-004-toCarlVon.at2 to jwamds-003-toCarlVon.at2 (current turn) and jwamds-004-to-M.at2 to jwamds-003-to-M.at2 (in the old turns folder).

Carl Von's turn is up next.

Shadehawk -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (12/2/2012 11:06:03 PM)

Shadehawk -> RE: 3v3[In progress...] (12/12/2012 9:54:01 PM)

Turn 4 complete. Next up is Royal Kiev (Jeff).
