Razz1 -> RE: Reccon range ? (6/17/2012 3:14:22 PM)

Hit escape key, go to preferences. Slide recon range to 2 or 3 hexes. Check advanced recon box.

Meteor2 -> RE: Reccon range ? (6/17/2012 3:32:30 PM)

Just checked:
- Visibility range is 3
- Advanced recon is marked.

An maybe another bug:
In November 1940 France attacked Belgium by air !!! (As Germany I am still neutral with Belgium).

Meteor2 -> RE: Reccon range ? (6/17/2012 3:41:15 PM)

The attack occured because Belgium is at war with France and Germany (still the diplomacy screen say: ALLIED).
Hmmmm ???? An pop-up information about Begium going to war with France would be helpful. So it is a totally surprise.

Here the diplomacy screen.

Razz1 -> RE: Reccon range ? (6/17/2012 6:07:04 PM)

wow!

Try looking at the events screen. Scroll back to see if an event happened that caused this war.

When you can see the AI moves in England, what countries are you playing?

Meteor2 -> RE: Reccon range ? (6/17/2012 6:39:04 PM)

Events: No, I could not find an event, where Belgium was mentioned.

I am only playing Germany. All other ones are AI.

(Should I send the autosave file for analysis to wasteland ?)

cpdeyoung -> RE: Reccon range ? (6/17/2012 6:51:15 PM)

Yes.

Chuck

Meteor2 -> RE: Reccon range ? (6/17/2012 7:05:54 PM)

We are hoping to have this upkeep issue fixed this week and pass the files to Matrix.

Any information on progress with this item.[:)]

+1

doomtrader -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/21/2012 4:58:01 PM)

Rasputitsa, we are fighting one nasty bug with skipping units. Have stuck for few days with that.

Good luck with your fight against the bug, don't forget to use plenty of air support and naval bombardment should help. [:)]

duncan007 -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/22/2012 4:58:49 PM)

Bought this game on Christmas and still waiting to play it as i always read some nasty bugs making the game nearly unplayable.
It reminds me Time of Wrath (I bough too) and its always waited patches.
No need to say i won't buy next game in the series...

gwgardner -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/22/2012 8:16:01 PM)

Read out AARs. The game is playable and fun. Just stay at patch 1.01 until 1.02 is ready. Remember, 1.02 is a beta, meaning it's for testing.

There is no reason at all if you have 1.01, that you can't have a great complete game.

Rasputitsa -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/22/2012 9:50:20 PM)

The game is very playable, 1.02 beta may have some problems, but I have enjoyed playing the game in ver 1.01, which is the current version. ToF 1.02 beta has some extra features that will improve the game even more, when it is corrected, after players trying it out found some issues, which is what a beta version is, it's made public to give people a chance to sample it. duncan007 -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/23/2012 12:11:35 AM)

So when i read in the thread "Game is broken"

"After france has surrendered my PP goes down to: -32. And the turn before I had about 300 PP."

that means it's only in 1.02 beta but i won't have such bug in 1.01 ?

Right ?

doomtrader -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/23/2012 8:06:51 AM)

People can name the threads as they want to.
Sometimes it is very hard to get the proper info and reproduce the issue they are dealing with. There might be many causes that something is happened, and some of them might be the choice or action consequences.
You see there any no additional information what has happened it that game. What was the reason. We can only guess, as the content of the thread really says nothing.
You can see that we are doing anything to make the game bug free and continuously improving the game, so I can say that the game is far from being broken.

From the start there were aspects of this game I liked and some I didn't, but on balance I have enjoyed this game much more than any other, in recent times. This is playing against the AI, PBEM players may have a different view.

This is a personal opinion, for instance I find the rail repair is too quick and although it works reasonably well for Western Europe, where historically there were many roads to provide movement, the game allows a too easy advance into Russia in winter. Whether this mean the game is broken, depends how important these things are to each player and how much they can be adjusted with mods (with information on this forum I am adjusting the files on rail repair and seeing how it works out).

There has been discussion on PZ units being much too powerful, 1.02 beta has an adjustment for this, whether it's a game breaker now depends on the player, I haven't found it a big issue.

You can leave your minor allies under AI control, which can very realistic, but then their units can do crazy things and get in your way, ruin your strategy. However, the game allows you to dip in and out of AI control for each nation, during a turn, keep some control, but leave them to do some of the action under AI.

Another issue for me is supply, which 1.02 beta adjusts and is why I am waiting to use it, after the reported problems are fixed. It has several useful features which will improve the game, but it's not usable yet for me, so I am staying with 1.01.

How much you get out of this game will depend on what is important to each player and how much you are able, or willing, to use the huge amount of preference choices and adjustable settings the game has. Beyond that you could use other people's mods, or make your own file adjustments to change the game to your taste.

So in short, ToF 1.01 is the latest official version, 1.02 beta is a work in progress and available to try out. Whether you will like the game depends on what you are looking for and how much its features meet your needs. So much in the game can be adjusted with the on-screen settings and preferences, or modded with work already done by others, or you can try yourself. Depends how deep you want to go, but I would have thought that there is something in the game for nearly everyone. [:)]

PS- even if there was a game breaking change in PP levels, using the F12 key during the turn, you can access and adjust any country's PP level and put it back to where it should be.

duncan007 -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/23/2012 12:48:54 PM)

Thanks for your advices.
I am going to try a 1.01 campaign.
Let's hope i won't need F12 [X(]

tombo -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/26/2012 7:56:16 PM)

possible bug.
in my games...the AI units become visible during its turn, then become Fog during my next turn. i have 1.02 and tried different games.
ill stop playing until fixed.

thanks for great game.

doomtrader -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/26/2012 8:07:27 PM)

tombo, are all units become visible, or only some of them?
Could you also wrote what are your Fog of War settings?

tombo -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/26/2012 8:49:17 PM)

all units become available during AI turn

my settings at 3 hexes recon, w/advanced recon checked, FOW checked.

tombo -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/26/2012 9:16:35 PM)

also have Classic wargame MOD WELK and AI movement box checked

tombo -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/29/2012 5:39:18 PM)

can anyone else confirm that the AI units becom visible during its turn? I seen this on two computers now w/v1.02.

Doom...did u check it?

Meteor2 -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (6/30/2012 9:20:01 AM)

Yes, I can confirm it (and I have done before; see post above).
Playing with 1.02, Fall Gelb, I (as Germany) was able to look deep into North Africa, Great Britain, France when the allied turn was executed.
FOW level 3 with advance FOW = on.

So a situation I cannot explain. The autosave was sent to wasteland days ago, but no response so far.

Maybe the patch 1.02 need some additional work. What do you think, Razz or doomtrader ?

doomtrader -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (7/1/2012 7:37:15 PM)

Meteor2,
could you please send this save game once again to
doomtrader[at]wastelands-interactive.com

For sure I don't have it currently installed and I'm not able to find any in my mail

Meteor2 -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (7/2/2012 4:51:57 PM)

Hello Doomtrader,

file has been sent.

First time I had use the adress "support@wastelands-interactive.com". Sorry. [:)]

doomtrader -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (7/2/2012 10:46:25 PM)

I have received the file.
The email was fine, also it remained me that I already received it, however it is pretty hard to connect user names from the ones with the mails.

doomtrader -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (7/3/2012 12:58:36 PM)

Is anybody able to reproduce this bug with country other than Slovakia which is controlled by human as the last one during the turn?

Meteor2 -> RE: 1.02 Beta bugs (7/3/2012 5:43:55 PM)

Doomtrader, you are right. It happens, when SLO is human controlled.
Nevertheless, when only Germany was human controlled, I could "see" britisch fleets on the US east coast and no german vessels nearby.
Is that really a design ?
