I've been waiting for Battlefield Academy to go on sale so I can repurchase it. I've missed not being able to play the game since my old pc bit the dust.

You should be able to re-download your original purchase

I have been able to do that with many of the games I lost..for example I have my Battle Academy France expansion, but unfortunately with the core game, I lost everything and forgot to register it when I bought it. I do not even have my original purchase email address any longer. It's a simple lesson learned from being a bit careless with my back ups and I do not mind buying it again.

As the old saying goes trust but verify.

Yes thanks - fixed!

rowech -> RE: Storm the Beaches for the D-Day Sale! (6/6/2012 6:00:53 PM)

Any chance we see Battle Academy for ipad go on sale as well?

IainMcNeil -> RE: Storm the Beaches for the D-Day Sale! (6/7/2012 2:38:23 PM)

No sorry that's definitely not going on sale.

rowech -> RE: Storm the Beaches for the D-Day Sale! (6/7/2012 3:46:52 PM)

Thanks for letting me know. I can't bring myself to pay $20 for an app so I'll end up passing for now. Thanks.

IainMcNeil -> RE: Storm the Beaches for the D-Day Sale! (6/7/2012 4:21:47 PM)

I don't understand the logic but its your call :) The PC version is exactly the same and 50% more normally and the same price now.

rowech -> RE: Storm the Beaches for the D-Day Sale! (6/7/2012 4:26:39 PM)

A $20 iTunes price is only going to get people who are already big wargame fans. It will never tap into a new customer base. Someone like myself, who is only a mild wargame player, won't fork over that kind of price when I can buy 5-10 other games for a total of $20.

IainMcNeil -> RE: Storm the Beaches for the D-Day Sale! (6/8/2012 9:19:43 AM)

You may say that but the evidence is against it. We've been the #1 strategy game in 11 countries and top 10 almost everywhere.

You cannot get anything like our games on the iOS store. Getting 5-10 other simpler games is fine if that's what you want, but it's not what we're seeing or hearing. Just look at the reviews!

rowech -> RE: Storm the Beaches for the D-Day Sale! (6/8/2012 12:45:55 PM)

Football Manager -- $10
Combat Touch -- $5
Versions of board games like Settlers, Ticket, etc. range from $5-$10
Your own game Conquest! is only $3.

By the look at pricing and it sounds like you're charging $20 because you feel you have the only true wargame on the ipad, there's no competition, and because of the name attached to it. No doubt, like I said, real wargamers are going to jump right in and not blink twice. You will keep the same customer base you have but I'm not sure how you're going to build it up. How many customers like me are intrigued by the game but bail because of the price? Those are the customers you don't see in reviews.

I find it odd that you have been a member of the forums since 05 and have over 200 posts, but you claim your a casual player of wargames. It would be my guess you have a couple Matrix titles. What was the price of them? Football Manager for iOS and Android is very stripped down. Have the PC version and bought the Android version to support the developer, but only play the PC version.

rowech -> RE: Storm the Beaches for the D-Day Sale! (6/9/2012 12:08:58 AM)

Most of my posts are from when matrix carried puresim baseball. I'm definitely not a major war game player.

stone10 -> RE: Storm the Beaches for the D-Day Sale! (6/9/2012 5:27:46 AM)

great news!!

IainMcNeil -> RE: Storm the Beaches for the D-Day Sale! (6/11/2012 12:40:29 PM)

I understand what you are saying but we think you are wrong and that the pricing policy of the app store and places like Steam is completely broken and have no intentions of following it. We want to release games at a price point that is fair and sustainable for us and the developers and this is based on our decades of experience. This is what we're doing and it is working. We also don't do massive sales as we think it penalises the early adopters who are our hard core fans base. We have a fairly steady price point over the entire lifetime of a product and you can be sure you're not going be regretting buy as the game is on sale 75% off the day after you bought. We just don't do this. Our hard core fan base is extremely important to us and work hard to look after them.
