I have noticed this several times before, but this time actually paid attention all the way through, albeit forgot to increase the combat reporting all the way up to really see an answer to this...but here goes..
The Russian side often in the early going of the 41 Campaign begins filling up with strength 0 units...most of the time(90+%) these units relocate if an Axis unit moves beside them. Sometimes, however, they still stand and fight. The combat report shows they have 0 men, 0 guns, 0 afv..yet, they sometimes stand and fight? And, not only do they fight on these , admittedly rare occasions, but they cause casualties(also, not many, this last time was 32 men and 1 afv) But what I am wondering is, with 0 men, WHAT is killing the Axis men and afv? And how can a 0 strength unit stand and make a division waste 2-3 MPs to fight it, when it obviously is only a "paper" division still in the process of fleshing out?

Yep... It's been an issue for a while, I believe. Deep carpets of Soviet zero strength units, if I recall correctly, although I haven't played for a long while.

Do you have a save right before the units appear?

I did not, but have auto save on now, will send one in probably in another turn or so when it happens again. So I take it this is not "wad".
That does bring me to a partially off topic point, also... Is there any way , with auto save on, to differentiate between games? If I have 2 ongoing games, auto save usually just saves as the turn#, and thereby overwrites the other game..it is probably something simple, I just have missed it so far...

Not sure if there is an issue or not without a file to pass on to the devs.

Autosave also includes the date so if you are playing different scenarios the file name be different. However if you are playing the same scenario, then no I don't think there will be any difference in the file names. You could manually move the files to different folders as a workaround, or rename them after the autosave.
