Hooper82 -> Training FB Pilots (6/30/2012 6:20:13 AM)

Hey Guys and Girls,

After being inspired by Captain Cruft AARs, I'm keen to try and get Fighter-Bombers going for Naval Attack. I did some testing and found them to be pretty good, given good enough skills.

However, I've come to my PBeM game, and I can't seam to raise LowN.

I've set some Aussie Beaufighter squadrons training 100%, Naval Attack, at 2000 Feet. However, their NavB skill is raising, not their LowN.

Any ideas?

Set them to 100feet, that's what I do.

Doesn't that raise their Strafing Skill?

I want to know why the fighter / fighter-bmbr / night-fighter are separate categories

since.. japanese night-fighters (Nick, etc) didn't carry radar, they wouldn't have any bonus

and even the Reisen was used as a fighter-bmbr (with those 2x60kg ordnance)..

FB stands for really crummy fighter, really crummy bomber. [:D]

set them at 1,000 feet for low naval. 100 feet and strafing will go up. Quite frankly they are not much use unless they carry 500 lb bombs or better. Late war Allied fighters with the 1,000 pound bomb is the best.

Beaufighters are all but useless due to the small bomb load. OK for barges and small ships but that is about it.

Specifically, your training parameters will not yield an improvement in LowN attack skills. They must be set at an altitude of 1000 feet. >1000 feet altitude raises NavB, as you've discovered.

Thanks guys, this seams to have fixed it. Seams a bit wierd that Bombers can be trained in LowN at sub 6000 feet, but Fighter-Bombers need to be at 1000 feet.

You should train them so that they become like Ulrich!!

Alone killing 520 Tanks, hundreds of motor vehicles, numerius Artillery, Anti Tank and Anti Aircraft guns... alone sinking a Battleship and a Battle Cruiser... and so on...

A legend, a hero,   alone worth at least a entire Wemacht Division according to his commander!

There was once a Saturday Night Live bit speculating what the world would be like if Superman was German. Can't seem to find it on youtube but it would have headlines like: "Uberman invades England. Kiils Everyone!"

Yes I wonder how many legends and heros like Hans-Ulrich Rudel it would take for Germany to win the war!

Apparantlly more then 1.

Yes, a unrepentant Nazi, who was an acquaintance of Josef Mengele, and an admirer of Juan Peron and Alfredo Stroessner. I wonder if he gets to wear all of his medals in hell.

Your definition of a hero and mine differ greatly....
