Dali -> RE: Gary's Graphics Thread (7/11/2012 4:12:24 PM)

I work on the mod from within Western Europe the 1940-41.
Mod is almost completed.
It is now extensively tested.
Still missing some things to finish and also part of the graphics. (such as French ships and aircraft)
On the same map mod make Normandy 1944-1945.
The working mode for the Mediterranean have only marginally.
Prepare graphic map will take approximately one year .... Dali

Very cool. I look forwar to when it's finished.

Just added a couple more planes. One to the Italians and one to the Gemans. The Geman plane is the He-115 which someone commented would be an essential plane for them.

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's Graphics Thread (7/21/2012 8:14:38 AM)

OK. I've finally checked my plane art in game and it looks like the top art needs tweaking. So....I'll probably have to go in and redo all my plane tops. Now here's the big question:

I'm only going to redo them one time. Which would most people prefer? Should I make the plane tops compatible with the color of the plane sides of each particular plane or should I do as Dali has suggested and make all the tops the same uniform color scheme for each country?

Since I'm only going to do this once, what would be the general preference?

1.Make the tops match the sides

or

2. Make the tops all be a uniform color scheme for each country?

Thanks.

MateDow -> RE: Gary's Graphics Thread (7/24/2012 3:40:03 PM)

Personally, I would say to have the sides and tops match.

Dali -> RE: Gary's Graphics Thread (7/24/2012 3:58:21 PM)

It is not important ...
Aircraft from one wararea should include the same basic color.
Especially in the top file.
African camouflage the He-111 Ju-88 and should look the same ... Dali

EDIT: What about plane sides? Won't it look funny to have the plane sides one color and the tops another? I can do the tops whatever color I want but the sides are more restrictive because it's a matter of cut/paste/shrink and buff up existing aircraft pics on the net.

African camo? I was more hoping to do them all something like this:

I like those Gary. Also you only see the tops in game so to me it doesn't matter.

Gary, the fate of the world rests on your shoulders. Continuing to do this, is a step towards an entire WWII game based on the WiTPAE game model..

Every unit, every plane, every ship, every everything.

LOVE the artwork. Those Italian fighters are beeeeautiful! I have always thought they were the best looking fighters of WWII..

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's Graphics Thread (8/6/2012 6:38:06 AM)

I've been toying around with new backgrounds. This one uses much the same color blue as stock but with a bit less cloud cover so dive bombers can see you ships easier. [:D]

Zip file with the bmp versions follows in the next post.
