KG Erwin -> OT My New Car (7/5/2012 11:40:08 PM)

Well, it isn't exactly new, but it's pretty close to it. I bought a 2009 Kia Rio 4-door sedan from Enterprise Car Sales, and it cost $12,500, but it has only 19,700 miles on it. That means it still has 40,000 miles to go on the manufacturer's warranty. I had $5000 from my insurance settlement to put down on it, so my payments will be only $207/month for 5 years. The thing is, my credit isn't good, so my interest rate is 12.49%. All things considered, I think I did pretty well on the deal. I write about this as I had written about my terrible last week, and THIS week things are looking much better. Here's the thing: my 2004 Cavalier LS had over 100,000 miles on it when it was wrecked, so I think it may end up being a good event in the long run. Yes, I have a car payment again, BUT it was bound to happen sooner or later anyway. Besides that, my daughter will be getting her learner's permit next year, and the Kia will be a good car for her to drive. The BAD thing is that I'll have to postpone my retirement until it's paid off. Oh, well.
