john g -> Am I missing any campaigns? (12/6/2002 3:04:32 AM)

I thought I would go through and check what I had installed in the campaign directory, and I wondered what campaigns if any I am missing.

What I have installed now are:
Preparing the Way
Heros of the Motherland
From Utah to the Rhine
A long, long road to Victory
Watchword Freedom
Tulagi, the first Offensive
Gaudalcanal 1942
Normandy Gold
Stalingrad
The Victors
The Victors
Rommel to the Rescue easier
Rommel to the Rescue hard
Drive to Tunisia
Balkan Crisis
The Hated Hurtgen
Dien Bien Phu
Italians at War
Flesh and Steel
Operation Sealion without
Operation Downfall
Fight along the Merderet River

Then I have already downloaded and not installed yet:
China Marines
Rack Pack
Russian Steel
Tarawa
Sealion with
Chemeux
Pz Abt 013

Can anyone spot anything that is missing, and clue me in as to where I could get it?
thanks, John.

Jim1954 -> (12/6/2002 4:31:29 AM)

I can think of two offhand but I can't find the links. I think I still have the zips at home and if so I will try to post. One is Kampfgruppe Peiper by M4 Jess and another one is a 3 scenario collection of a German Engineer Co's defense of a frozen river line in Russia.

:)

Jim1954 -> (12/6/2002 9:29:04 AM)

Here is Peiper:
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27423

If I can do this right, then this is the zip file for Neva.

Hey Jim1954, thanks for having pointed our mate toward my minicampaign on Neva river: I'm glad to see somebody remembers about it :)

JOHN G. : on our site (The Arsenal), you can find also another minicampaign, by Bryan Melvin: "slaugther at Cheneux".
Just follow the link in my signature, and look for "scenarios" section.

I'd reccomend you to give a try to "China Marines", too: a very interesting and unusual subject, plus the best tropical maps I've ever seen around till now.

M4Jess -> (12/6/2002 9:24:17 PM)

Peiper is under H2H conversion..

there is also Moscow I posted at the dirty dozen a month or 2 ago

plloyd -> (12/6/2002 11:31:54 PM)

There was also a campaign about the LRDG/SAS called Raiders of the Sahara. It was posted at the Moterpool. The site has since expired, but perhaps the campaign can still be found. You may want a copy of OOB manager at the same time.

kevsharr -> (12/7/2002 12:50:01 AM)

John,were did you get Rack Pack,Tarawa,Pz-013,Drive to Tunisia,Fight along the Mederet and op. Downfall?
I've got all the one's you listed and also Yangtze River Patrol,Battle for Moscow and Kowel Counterattack.

I checked again and Tarawa is just a scenario, not a campaign, I just saved it to the wrong directory.

Rat Pack is the LRDG campaign, which I guess is now only available from those who grabbed it before the site went down.

Pz-013 and Merderet I think were from the Arsenal site, Op Downfall is v0.1 so it was a first alpha or beta from the author.

Drive to Tunisia doesn't state who wrote it, it is a UK 8th army campaign at the end of the desert war.

I am guessing Matrix's server is full up since it won't let me attach any files now, otherwise I would attach what I could and let everyone have what I have.
thanks, John.

kevsharr -> (12/7/2002 11:44:47 AM)

Thank's for the responce!!:)

tiggwigg -> (12/12/2002 1:55:53 PM)

It would be great to have a single sticky at the top of the forum that had links/attachments of all campaigns...I have raiders of the sahara, but can't attach it to the forum since I have zero byte upload limit...I can email to people, if you want to send me.

Myself, I am lacking
Rack Pack
Merderet River
Pz Abt 013

Would appreciate anyone letting me know where I can get these...thanks

For "Fight along the Merderet river", just follow the link in my signature :) (Check in the scenarios section)

Wild Bill -> (12/21/2002 11:41:34 PM)

Wiliam Conqueror Rusco did a Tulagi campaign. I had a tiny hand in helping him with it. It is a jewel.

There are also two that I have never completed, "Rising and Setting Sun" with Japan as the human player and "Patton in Tunisia," also partially completed.

Bryan Melvin also did a Crete campaign in the older SPWAW.

Finally there is my older version of "Screaming Eagles," done in early SPWAW that I hope to update soon.

As I revise these older ones, I'll advise the group and put them on either the Arsenal or the Raider HQ site.

There are a number of the 16 campaigns that I did in SP3 that I also hope to convert to SPWAW.

Hypothetical Invasion of Cuba, early 1960s,
Janesville 99 - US Tanks battalion in Philippines, early 1942
Iwo Jima
Tarawa
89th Tank Bn in Korea. "Triumphant Tankers"
Merrill's Marauders

Finally, look for a new campaign called "The Chosin Few" coming up in a day or so on the Raider HQ site. The team was led by Bruce Recon Hodgeman, author of China Marines and the campaign on Guadalcanal.

They will still be coming for awhile.

Jakub -> ASL adapted scenarios.... (12/23/2002 4:20:05 PM)

Guys,

As said Wild Bill... - If you could collect all the campaigns that were done so far on Arsenar or other sites I (and most of other gamers - if not all) would appreciate it a lot... Thanks

PS. I just played few adjusted from ASL scenarios (both ways) and I am impressed (downloaded from Arsenal). Till the last moment I wasn't sure about the outcome. In some scenarios - being the defending side was even thougher.

Are there any more adapted ASL scenarios - I found around 8

Wild Bill -> (12/24/2002 9:05:33 AM)

There are a few floating around Jakub. Tell me which ones you have and we'll see what else you might need.

I remember

Breakout from Borisov
Grenadiers in a Gully
the first three scenarios from the old SL series (Stalingrad)
What to Do?
Belated Christmas (old SL)
Bushmasters

And some others...WB

El_Peco -> Spanish Civil War (12/24/2002 3:34:56 PM)

A little of target, but is there a campaign about Spanish Civil War?
Or a campaign in progress about it?

Regards & happy holidays to everyone:)

Wild Bill -> (12/24/2002 10:49:35 PM)

I think you are right, El Peco. I don't know if it was ever completed nor do I remember who was doing it. I would like to see it done, that is for sure.

Wild Bill

Redleg -> (12/24/2002 11:01:06 PM)

I was just reading some more about the Spanish Civil War.

It would seem to be a very good basis for a campaign or two.

Wild Bill -> (12/25/2002 12:55:11 AM)

There you have it.

I can see the gleam in Redleg's bad eye as he formulates a campaign on the subject. Get out the way and let the old scenario master do his thing!

His individual scenarios on the theme are classic. Seeing perhaps the Abe Lincoln Brigade in action would be a great one.

Bring it on, Redleg. Mi espanol esta a la orden!

I'm sure our Latin and Spanish compatriots would love such a theme.

Right, caballeros?

Wild Bill

Wild Bill -> (12/25/2002 12:56:37 AM)

Speaking of your handiwork, when does the next "Deadly Dozen" come out, Redleg.

I know it should be "dirty" and I feel that it is when I get embroiled in some of those battles, but "Deadly" sometimes seems more appropriate, especially when they kill me! :eek:

WB

Redleg -> (12/25/2002 2:18:06 AM)

We try to post the Dirty Dozen early each month. So it will likely be very soon after January 1st.

The collection for January looks very good. Lots of different theaters, years, etc.

I was mainly encouraging someone else to go for a SCW campaign. So far, the scenarios have been enough of a challenge for me.

Brutto-Bob -> (1/29/2003 9:08:42 PM)

There are two more campaigns:

A fictional Germany vs Czech 1938 campaign called 'Prague, first step' and one Finland vs URSS 1939. Both campaigns are done by Martino Verdelli and they could be downloaded at my web site:

http://www.geocities.com/spumadacinque

Bye.

Wild Bill -> (1/29/2003 10:51:07 PM)

Excellent web site, BB! You've really done a good job with it. I like the layout and the content. I'm sure our Italian Cohorts are enjoying your efforts.

I'm considering a campaign on the Italian Alpini troops 41-43, so if you have anything at all on that subject, would you let me know?

Grazi!

Wild Bill

Brutto-Bob -> (1/29/2003 11:40:42 PM)

I've do a reply in your thread: ' A Request to my Centurions of Italy '... suggesting to follow the 4th Alpine Div. 'Cuneense' that fought in many theatres of war between 1940-43.

I don't have many information about these campaigns, I own only a very big book with all Italian operations in Russia. I could take a look on it but I need time to make an abstract and translate it in english.

Next week I'm in vacation (It's time for winter sports :) ) so I could do the job...

Jim1954 -> (1/30/2003 11:59:09 PM)

Wild Bill, Brutto Bob's page had a link on it to a campaign that came from the Raiders Arsenal back in April of 02, I believe. . Pz Abt 013. That link doesn't contain that campaign anymore. Is there any way to find it again? (Ok I missed that download).
I searched the archives and didn't see it there either.

Thanks if you can help (and even if you can't)

:D

Wild Bill -> (1/31/2003 12:57:43 AM)

I don't have it, Jim. Sorry. I remember it being mentioned as a work in progress but I can't recall who was doing it. So much for senility.

Write B-Bob and see if he can help you with it...WB

Jim1954 -> (1/31/2003 1:01:20 AM)

Thanks Bill, (I always called them Senior Moments, sounded a little better than that S word).

;)

john g -> more campaigns found (1/31/2003 9:53:54 AM)

While I was checking my backup machine for a zip of Drive to Tunisia I found two more campaigns there that I don't remember getting. Normandy Nightmare and American Crusaders. Nothing in the text file mentions who did them and all I can tell is that I downloaded them back in may 02.
thanks, John.

I did.

They were never finished.

Normandy Nightmare was meant to be focused on 1 SS Pz Corps in Normandy based on the book Steel Inferno, but I have my doubts about focusing on the SS, don't really like 'em very much.

American Crusaders was meant to be an American campaign following the 743rd Tank Bn from Normandy to Germany (29th and 30th Inf Divs). Decided that it would be much too similar to Utah to the Rhein.

Jim1954 -> (1/31/2003 8:27:53 PM)

Thanks for the zips , John. I have no idea how I'm going to find the time to try to play everything, but it's a nice quandry to be in.

:cool:
