EMMA3888 -> SECURITY IMAGE (7/12/2012 11:40:45 PM)

Please forgive me but I just can not hold back any longer. There is in place much security in the form of a username and password to enter any forum activities. Now it seems we have security issue that we all need to deal with.
I myself, having worked for a company that required password for each of the ten system we were required to log on to not to mention that every 60 days we had to get new ones, learned to absolutely hate all this security stuff.
Now it seems this is also seeping into our forums every where I go. The newest thing that all websites, including this one, are starting something new. It is some sort of security image. EVERYTIME I LOG ON TO THIS WEBSITE I FEEL LIKE I AM HAVING TO TAKE AN EYETEST AT AN OPTOMATRISTS OFFICE. I really pity the poor older people who have limited vision and have a heck of a time trying to figure out what this security image is with all these lines going thru the letters.
What on earth is the purpose of this nonsense. One would thing that we are trying to stop hackers from getting into bank accounts or something. IT IS, IN MY OPINION, SILLY AND TOTALLY, TOTALLY UNNECESSARY.[&:][&:]

EMMA I suspect ur a SPAMMER, due to the fact you said "Everytime I log into this site etc.".....If you had signed on more than once I'd believe you !!!!

Either that youu not a SPAMMER then u do not tell all truths.

EMMA3888 -> RE: SECURITY IMAGE (7/18/2012 5:53:54 AM)

I am not a spammer. Is that what this security stuff is all about? Stopping spam?

EMMA3888 -> RE: SECURITY IMAGE (7/18/2012 6:05:02 AM)

By the way you have acused me of being a spammer because I used the words "everytime I login". You tell me how many times you have logged in to the forums and did not have to enter your username, password, followed by typing in The SECURITY IMAGE. I'd be willing to bet you also had to do this every time.

planner 3 -> RE: SECURITY IMAGE (7/18/2012 7:08:01 AM)

Emma I have a total of over 2000 log ins as either planner 3 or chief on this Forum. I never logged on to this forum without user name. I stay logged in. If your not a spammer then I may owe you an apology, but I'll wait for that, as time goes by. [8D][>:]

Planner 3 are you an American or have you dropped out of high school, you sure need spell checker and what the gentleman said above is correct, first of all I do not think the forums are that important to have any password period.

He is a fine American in his 70s, a retired US Navy vet. Usually very helpful.

rich12545 -> RE: SECURITY IMAGE (8/4/2012 3:59:06 PM)

I am not a spammer! Ok. And I am an American with a BS. Now that that's cleared up we can move on.

When logging in which I have to do after every time I use ccleaner, maybe a couple times a month, I go through the security check. The MG security is one of the easiest I've seen. As one of those older people whose eyesight isn't the best anymore I can attest to that. Most of those damn things I have to do 3-4 times.

What I don't like, and maybe somebody can correct me on this, is the inability to change my password. I still have my original from about 10 years ago and have to look it up every time. I've looked and have not found a way to change it.

Floyd -> RE: SECURITY IMAGE (8/8/2012 10:38:31 AM)

If you click "Forgot your password" on the login page, you can enter your email address and
will receive a link where to enter a new password.

Andrew Loveridge -> RE: SECURITY IMAGE (8/8/2012 3:40:58 PM)

Also on your My Profile page, at the top, is a link next to Login that allows you to change your password.

Andrew Loveridge -> RE: SECURITY IMAGE (8/8/2012 3:48:22 PM)

And in response to the OP, the security is to stop automated logins by spammers. Which has become an issue with these forums, and this has reduced them.

parusski -> RE: SECURITY IMAGE (8/8/2012 9:54:16 PM)

bo was nuts when he said

Planner 3 are you an American

What the hell does being American have to do with anything? I suppose the rest of the world is much more educated than people in the United States.

I must agree with one part of the OP's comments on the Security image: I am colour Blind so every time I need to enter that code, I either have to get my wife or any of my daughters or even my admin assistant at the office to read it to me as I can't see it for the love of me! If there is no one around, then I simply have to wait for someone to help me.

I am not colour blind and I have some trouble reading them. Have you tried pressing ctrl while rolling your mouse wheel forward(ZOOMING IN)?? This helps a lot of folks.
