There is something bad going on with the auto-design feature.
Here is what actually auto designer suggested in upgraded version of new ships (in brackets i will put a grade of technology i.e. upgrade for Gerax Hyper Drive - Jump Sequence Optimization)
- Velocity drive (grade1) was replaced by GeraxHyperDrive(grade3)
- Raptor Targetting System (grade1) was replaced by Combat Targetting System (grade2)
- Mega-Density Fuel Cell(grade1) was replaced by UltraDense Fuel Cell (grade1)
- Shockwave Torpedo (grade3 MAX) is never used in any design and instead auto-designer prefers Concussion Missile (grade2)
I see it that auto-designer is only checking if the component is 'more on the right side' of tech tree and that's all. In fact every component I have noted above was replaced by something newer but much more worse.
It would be perfect if it would also check if upgraded item is really better than the current component.
Can You please fix this issue in future patches ?
