JR5555 -> In need of some advice on how best to play Babes lite. (8/25/2012 3:11:19 AM)

Hi, I'm playing a PBEM game using the Guadalcanal stock scenario that has been converted to babeslite. I have a few questions regarding things and unfortunately JWE is on leave for a short time. Because of this and me having no contact to him I started this thread in hopes to get answers from some of the players who use babeslite. When playing the Guadalcanal scenario I usually use my subs to great effect but in this modified scenario I am having very little success, like none. I am being hounded constantly by my opponents ASW groups and I am being spotted more than I would like to be. What has been happening is that I am getting very few attacks and when I do attack the sub decides to attack a destroyer. How can I adjust things to get more success out of my submarines? As of now I am already using the most aggressive commanders. What other options do I have? Would putting two submarines in one task force help increase attacks or would it just cause them to be spotted more easily? I noticed that the changes have adjusted the Japanese advantage in naval warfare regarding night combat, the ships experience at night is not has high as in stock. Do the Japanese still have a night combat advantage in Babeslite? Please don't think that I am complaining about the adjustments made, I am very happy for the opportunity to play a different version than stock. I like how it improves the realism of the game.[8D] I would just like to know more about the changes so I can adjust my play accordingly. Thank you.
