foliveti -> DATABASE UPDATE? (8/29/2012 3:32:19 AM)

I have been playing a rather slow version of da babes, scenario 28 since January. I received a new turn today and while loading the turn, the message flashed "databases have been updated." Something that I noticed once I was checking on TFs was that the AKs seemed to have only a 66% load. I checked the previous turn and discovered that the database update had magically increased the capacity of the AKs by about 50%. I think the new capacity is more in line with the stock size of the ships. Does anyone have any idea how they might have been magically increased. I really would like to continue the scenario I had been playing?

Could be nothing more than your opponent fiddling with the DB and not realising it might update the current game you're playing or ...

But before accusing him maybe have a look at the modified dates of the scenario in the SCEN folder and ask your opponent to do the same.

If I were to change something - this would not be it [8D]

I assume that if a change was made to the database it was inadvertent. I am just trying to get back to the database we had before.

I tried it on both of my computers and the db update happened on both. When I loaded a previously sent turn it did not update. So I think that whatever happened was attributable to the turn that came over.

Well any turn sent to you AFTER the database has been changed will change your database as well for that game. So now you know it's from your opponent and not on your end. They'll need to figure out what went wrong and send you a new turn.

A possibility is that they may have loaded the turn in the wrong folder or with the wrong mod enabled.

Actually, I may be the culprit after all. My opponent indicated that it started asking about a database update several turns ago and on this past turn he may have inadvertently hit yes. My hard drive crashed a few turns ago and I was required to reinstall Witpae, including the master patch. We are thinking that may have been the source of the database update request, but are not sure.

We are going to try to replay the last turn and see if that corrects the problem.
