“Serious” Races mod
Once again I would like to share with you a mod I use to replace original races pictures. I really appreciate the great variety of nice races “Distant World” provides to a player. But to me they seem to look a little bit like toys (no offense to the makers of this great game!) which is fun, but doesn't work best for sci-fi atmosphere I like. Personally I prefer races to look more intelligent and serious (yes, even “Attuk” one! :-)). Also I'd like them to look more “scientific” and generally more convincing.
So with a help of Google I searched through hundreds of artworks. I chose about a hundred of images which looked interesting but not familiar to me. I cropped and resized them to 300x300 pixels and did little colour grading to some of them. Then I sorted them by race families and chose 22 of them which fit best in my opinion to replace original ones.

(Please take a note that I didn't do any “foreground vs background” cuts to them).
