On a scale of 1-10. 10 meaning yes indeed.

Comments welcome, but I do understand it's is TOF lite.

Misconduct -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (8/31/2012 9:37:49 PM)

I believe the game can be improved and moded, I would certainly give it an 7.5 for now.

Magpius -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (8/31/2012 11:58:42 PM)

TOF-lite...
A cut down version of Time of Fury, (also by Wastelands).
What I meant was, even though this game is smaller in scale, it is still big on play value.
I can think of few recent games at this price that provide such enjoyment
[9.5 Yes]

papajack -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/1/2012 12:24:19 AM)

I always wanted to play the "Big Boys" wargames but never get past a couple of turns and always end up not touching them again

SWIE is a dream come true for me as it let you have all those big wargames depth/details without feeling overwhelm , frustration and yes , you will actually play a game from start to finish (something that I have not done for a long long time )

So it is a 9 [:)]

jomni -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/1/2012 4:29:28 AM)

Well this seems to be a better PBEM game since it will be finished faster.
7.5 for me as there are so many WW2 games of type already and it doesn't seem to stand out so much in my opinion.
Graphics could be better.

Misconduct -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/1/2012 3:59:00 PM)

When you compare it to War in the Pacific its amazingly Short - this is why I kind of quarked at it when I finished my first campaign in under 3 hours, i've been on the same WITP Pbem for over a year now! :)

doomtrader -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/1/2012 7:22:26 PM)

I think this is one of the most interesting threads for other folks.
Let others know is the game worth to buy.

And that's exactly why they made it, a short and fun version.

Anguille -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/1/2012 9:46:10 PM)

Its my current must have game on my netbook...love to play it during my business trips....

+1

However the AI does need some work.

AZKGungHo -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/2/2012 4:08:07 AM)

For $15 it's a no brainer. It's not balanced and there are problems with making certain things work (like transporting troops) but it's fast, fun and easily worth more than it's price!

jzz001 -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/3/2012 6:08:50 PM)

9.5 now, if some sop scenarios can be import, 10 [:D]

battlevonwar -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/5/2012 5:26:39 AM)

TOF was really good, it is just massive. So that's that... Fun but massive, this is affordable at 15 bucks. IF it's entertaining I'm game

CEAW, SC1, Clash of Steel, High Command. Something like that with PBEM? Why not BUT can we get the Players, in the immortal words of the Terminator "I'll be back!"

Its worth the money but agree with comment above needs to address some of the balance issues

AZKGungHo -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/5/2012 5:07:48 PM)

Hey ricodc,

Couldn't agree more, it has big balance issues that need addressing. But still for $15 it's hard to go wrong.

Magpius -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/6/2012 4:41:43 AM)

I can't speak for Wastelands, but given the ongoing support Doomtrader has demonstrated for their other existing titles, there is no reason to think that balancing issues and the like, will be ignored on this title either.

Slacker lol. I been playing WitP AE now for just over two years (now in March '44) so let me know where you are next year [:)]

parusski -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/7/2012 2:43:58 AM)

I want this to continue, 'cause am I a 12 year shill for Matrix. But a thread like this can sway people who are just not sure.

I am loving the game...but then I own all but two or three Matrix/partners games.

Appren -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/11/2012 4:46:57 PM)

I bought it, and I do not regret it. This is partially because the price was low, I don't think I'd accept the AI flaws and imbalances in a full price game(the latter I am sure will be worked on in patches, the AI I'm afraid will be worse). Just buy it, and if you find out you don't enjoy it that much, you wont have wasted a whole lot of money anyway.

papajack -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/12/2012 12:13:26 AM)

kirk23 -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/13/2012 10:29:28 AM)

Hello folks I don't own this yet but seriously thinking about getting it,along with Time of Wrath,my main query is editors for these games,my main interest is the naval side to games, can I add new ships to these games, plus alter there hit points,so that they have a better chance of surviving combat.

kirk23 -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/18/2012 11:42:19 AM)

Well 5 days after asking my question I get no answer,so I quess I won't be buying this game.

doomtrader -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/18/2012 12:00:22 PM)

Hi kirk23,
I think it is always better to ask such questions in a completely new thread.

You can add new ships (there are six types and 11 subtypes), adjust lots of stats for the naval combat, for specific ship type and even for selected unit.

kirk23 -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/18/2012 2:02:01 PM)

Thanks for reply doomtrader,That was the answer I was hoping to hear,I will now be buying this game soon.[;)]

Update I have just bought the game![;)]

AZKGungHo -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/18/2012 5:57:00 PM)

This game could be great - really great, but they are going to have to deal with the play balance issues. The German vs. Russians is the biggest one and must be addressed. I would also say that the Western Allies need some upgrading as well, but that's hard to tell with the Russian Front being over before 1944.

Please work on this! I love the scale and complexity of the game, some balance would go a long way to making it great.

doomtrader -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/18/2012 6:07:30 PM)

I'm working on the Russo-German war balance, and this is going to be the major issue with the 1.05 patch. I think we will be able to release it at the beginning of October.

kirk23 -> RE: To Buy or not To Buy (9/18/2012 6:37:47 PM)

I really like games were it improves with patches and stuff, long may it continue my early feelings are I like the game alot,so once I learn how to edit and tweak it to my own preferences the more I will love it.[8D]
