I'm experiencing the following problem during PBEM games. Every time SPWAW generates e-mail files to send to opponent, when I "click to continue" the game hangs. Sound remains active, mouse disappears and even switching between applications with ALT-TAB doesn't work. The only solution is press CTRL-ALT-DEL to start Task Manager, but even in this case the Windows Desktop is left-top covered by a 640x480 black area which covers any other application and even the mouse pointer. The only solution is killing SPWAW (which in in "not responding" state) with Task Manager. I experienced the same problem during the buying phase of a random generated scenario after clicking on the "mission" button and then clicking again to let the pop-up box disappear. I use a Notebook with NT Server 4.0 Service Pack 5. This bug does not prevent me to play, but it's annoying. Is there a solution? Has anyone experienced the same problem? Thanks. Bye. Epursimov.

The game's performance on Windows NT is hit or miss, because NT only supports DirectX to 3.0, and I believe the minimum for the game is 6.1 What's probably happening is the game is consistently making some kind of graphics update at that point that uses a routine that either works differently or doesn't exist in DirectX 3.0, at which point things wander off into the weeds.
