dosent look all that interesting to me personally.

i am very much looking forward to star drive instead atm

Arcatus -> RE: Star Lords (9/28/2012 9:22:55 AM)

Another thread of another game?

In my opinion this is the wrong forum for such threads...

But with that being said - anyone know of an active 4x coummunity? In other words; the right place for such threads.

And Stars!

[:D]

darcion -> RE: Star Lords (9/28/2012 10:16:41 AM)

i have this early version but did not like it yet. if this will become a new version of MOO (i hope it)than we will hear about it later on release.

w1p -> RE: Star Lords (9/28/2012 2:21:10 PM)

both games look pretty impressive, but star drive looks alot more polished at the moment.

Yeah, there's been a lot. But there is also no off-topic section here...

ASHBERY76 -> RE: Star Lords (9/28/2012 6:37:15 PM)

The diplomacy model seems to have casus belli.If it has non Civ copy diplomatic system I am interested.

TheJian -> RE: Star Lords (10/28/2012 1:37:35 PM)

I sounds just like DW 2 me.

Think you need to read the project outline it is nothing like DW and I would imagine DW2 would be an improved version of DW. M.O.R.E is based on MOO2.

IMO this sounds like whats im playing right now

8 major races each with their own ship designs, technologies, unique traits and unique abilities, meaning playing with each race is a different challenge and offers new ways to approach the game.
Big, living universe: In addition to the major powers, independent races and pirate clans also claim the galaxy as their residence; their existence can be an annoyance, or a blessing if you can take advantage of them.
Deep economical and political layer: War isn't the only way to weaken your rivals. Diplomacy, inteligence and trade can be one of many powerful tools that, if used properly, can be very effective as well.
Tactical Turn based combat
Generals: These unique and powerful units evolve as they battle and if used well can be the difference between defeat and victory.
Randomly generated universe, tech tree and units: You will never play the same game twice.
Empire shattering: Unrest might lead rebels to start a civil war which in turn might lead to the creation of a new, independent empire that might grow to rival your own.
Plotting: Secretly finance a war against your rivals in order to weaken them or prepare a surprise joint war along with your allies in a bid to destroy that frighteningly fast growing empire. Beware of spies and whistleblowers though; your plot might be uncovered before you put it in action and the consequences can be dire.
Domestic Policies: Rule your empire as you wish. Turning it into a dystopia, a utopia or something in between, it's up to you.
Human-like AI that doesn't cheat and plays by the same rules as human players, while presenting a constant challenge.
Modding Support.

this is the only thing diff.. but multiplayer does not make a game IMO... ONCE MORE ITS IMO so i dont think i need to reread..why do you guys alwasy think if someone does not think as you do, they need to............lol

Lan, hot seat and Online multiplayer with matchmaking.
Completely DRM-fre

Just pre-oredered it, and have only started.

But Any TBS Space game has my attention and support. And Yes from personal experience it does remind me of the MoO series with some twists. But it's still only an Alpha so it's going to morph as time goes by.

Does it has something common with this title?

No. I think they just happen to have a very similar name.

doomtrader -> RE: Star Lords (11/9/2012 10:02:58 AM)

Too bad. I remember playing old StarLords on Amiga

I think people are just running out of titles for space 4X games. The genre seems to have become very overcrowded lately. Just a pity only a couple have been worth bothering with.

Rather bored of 4X now. I just wish somebody would go get a license from David Weber or John 'Jack Campbell' Hemry and use it for a really decent tactical/grand tactical space warfare game. A computer version of Saganami Island would do nicely.

Actually, on the topic of space games I floated a few quid on Solar War recently mainly because the scenario interested me for once. The alpha is promising enough despite the very 'indie' looks at present.

ASHBERY76 -> RE: Star Lords (11/10/2012 7:23:31 PM)

The updates on the forum from devs seemed to have dried up for this game.Always a risk to back an unfinished product.

Yeah they are claiming the next alpha update has been ready for a while but they can't upload it because of internet problems. Not a good sign. lol

RedArgo -> RE: Star Lords (11/11/2012 2:22:53 AM)

they say they are still working on the game while they work out their internet problems, so I hope that is the case
