Chris21wen -> Replacements for restricted air units (9/28/2012 12:04:34 PM)

I've just received 3 replacements as a fragment in Tokyo for a restricted air unit attached to China Expeditary Army. The parent is currently in Amoy. I can load the fragment onto a ship but other than that how do I get the fragment to it's parent, it won't fly anywhere in Japan and the range is too great to fly to China[&:]

Hmm if I remember right you can also permanently disband these fragments.

That's the only way. It's best to disband the fragment, and turn off automatic replacemnts. Make sure that China have enough supplies to replacement planes so they won't arrive Tokyo.

Forgot I could disband them. It's a pain.

When disband them?[&:]

Why ont just use them as some additional training units?

What is the purpose of disbanding? Probably a dumb question.

They are a 3 a/c fragment of a restricted air unit based in China. At most you will be training 4 pilots with 3 a/c which is not very efficient plus the air unit itself will alway be short those three a/c.

KPAX -> RE: Replacements for restricted air units (9/28/2012 7:16:35 PM)

Chris, ok that makes sense ... thanks.

I basically agree, but for the Allies I think it may be a little different. I have several units which are fragments of a smaller unit. Since I have plenty of planes would it not be a good idea to leave them sits there, even with 3 planes and 4 pilots? That is 4 more pilots who are being trained instead of none? 10 fragments will provide a training platform for 40 pilots.

Follow up question...

For the Allies they have many units which are like “12 of 16”, then a second unit which is the detachment unit which is “4 of 16”. They never seem to combine, even if in the same base.

What is the deal with these? Should the smaller unit be disbanded and hopefully combined with the bigger unit?

hi KPAX,

once the detachment is at the same base as the parent, look at the screens, at lower left there should be a recombine button. they must be flying the same plane.
