RandomAttack -> Screen Resolution (9/29/2012 4:35:25 PM)

Sorry if this is answered somewhere else, but I couldn't find it.

Is there any way to start the game in a resolution other than the desktop?? Mine is 1920x1200, which makes the graphics really small. Sure, I can change it to something better, but then I am constantly switching back and forth, messes up my desktop icons, etc.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, no, not yet.

Hopefully a future UPDATE will provide a number of windowed resolution options.

Ok-- just had to make sure. Thanks for the reply.

Hi,had the same exact question as the OP, so figured might as well resurrect this thread rather than starting a new one.

Is it a possibility? Is it something already available in the newly released middle east series?

Thanks!

Crossroads -> RE: Screen Resolution (9/28/2015 10:03:03 AM)

No, not yet I. To do something like this would require adjusting the desktop settings. With 4K monitors in the horizon, something we've discussed internally though.

jspec -> RE: Screen Resolution (9/28/2015 3:20:27 PM)

Sorry to hear that, but thanks for the response.

Reinstalled after a long time to check out the new patches and it's almost impossible to see anything if I play at my native res.

I wonder how other people with 1920-1200 or 1980x1080 play? Just change the desktop resolution from the control panel every time?

Crossroads -> RE: Screen Resolution (9/28/2015 4:50:50 PM)

I've got 1920x1080 and I play with 3D only for most part, but for a generic look over the battlefield with 2D. Now, with CS:Middle East having the two Zoom-in 2D views, I can finally play solely with 2D when I want [:)]

dox44 -> RE: Screen Resolution (9/28/2015 5:51:16 PM)

i start at 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 using DC from a desktop shortcut.

this was posted on the forum somewhere.

apologies before hand if i'm not understanding you

Thanks casebier, I need to give this a try! I think that would be great for those 2D sessions with JTCS games.

dox44 -> RE: Screen Resolution (9/28/2015 10:02:36 PM)

works well i think. at 800x600 the icons start to blur just a little but its easy.

jspec -> RE: Screen Resolution (9/29/2015 5:17:20 AM)

hi thanks for the responses guys, and casebier thanks for the link - that seems like just what I'd like to use. Download it but having a little trouble figuring it out.

I'll do some searching and hopefully figure it out!

dox44 -> RE: Screen Resolution (9/29/2015 11:19:47 PM)

here is my desktop icon target window if that helps

"C:\Program Files (x86)\12noon Display Changer\dc.exe" -width=800 -height=600 /c "c:\Matrix Games\John Tiller's Campaign Series\autorun.exe"

just replace what is in the shortcut target with the

"C:\Program Files (x86)\12noon Display Changer\dc.exe" -width=800 -height=600 /c "c:\Matrix Games\John Tiller's Campaign Series\autorun.exe"

Hey, would you mind a screenshot with the 3D units, so I can see what they look like? Something with Egyptians or Syrians please!

hey thanks for the help! I can get it to work (turns out I should have been downloading display changer 4.3.2, I was clicking on 'Display changer II 1.5.0' which didn't appear to do much when I downloaded it yesterday).

The catch is for whatever reason the only resolution I can seem to get to work is 1650x1050; which helps make things a little bigger but I was hoping to try out 1440x900 or even 1280x800. For some reason those don't work (even with -force switch added on).

Tried a few others at different aspect ratios and no luck, I'll keep plugging away and hopefully can figure it out.

Thanks again -

dox44 -> RE: Screen Resolution (9/30/2015 12:52:33 PM)

understand. i could only get 1280 x 768 at first which was better...i honestly don't know what happened either but one day was messing with it and 8x6 started working...

good luck

Has anybody gotten this to run on Windows 10 64bit? When I install the program all I get is a box full of command switches.

I have had this on my disk with a Desktop that started as 8.0, and has seen the OS updated all the way to W10 Fall Creators Update. All versions were 64 bit ones.

I suggest you contact Matrix Support if you continue to have issues, as they are well prepared to address any OS/HW issues, as that is what this sounds like.

Good luck!
