ftwarrior -> Some newbie questions (12/15/2002 2:44:49 AM)

Just started with UV 2.0 and have some 'logistic' questions:

1) Is there any way to zoom out from the screen a little more? I feel that I'm too close (and yes I am certain that I'm not already on maximum zoom when I say this....it still seems too close).

2) Let's say I use true update and it makes changes to the manual. If I invoke the Kinko's print feature from the game menu, will those changes be incorporated into what gets printed?

Thx in advance

There is a zoom key; I think it's z. But there are only two levels of zoom. A better bet is to play at a higher resolution. At 1024 resolution, I can see a lot of the map.

No clue about Kinko's.

Thanks for the 1024 tip....didn't know that was setable in the game....did so and that did the trick.

The game always seems to require the disc being inserted...is this normal? What happens when I upgrade beyond 2.0 but still only have a 2.0 disc to insert?

2.1x will run fine with your disc inserted; that's what all of us do. And yes, you have to have your disc inserted.

FYI, Matrix is about to release a new patch for the game; the current version, 2.11, has a few problems with fighter-bomber combat. For details, see the thread "can you say open beta." Better yet, just wait for the patch.

The game has a rather steep learning curve, but if you play through one of the smaller scenarios, you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly. It's certainly worth the effort; it's the best computer wargame on the market.

Agreed. And yes, I'm up on the thread about the B-17 vs Zero issue. Actually, I've been following the forums since Feb. waiting and drooling for the game to come out and get the kinks shaken out of it (I write software....never buy the 1.0 version of anything :) ). So, 2.0 came out, I actually found it, and jumped on it.
