How best to invade these small atolls
with max stack of 6000 ? I want to avoid
a slug fest How did you guys do it ?

Recon and bombard the heck of the island prior to invasion. Invade with at least 3-1 advantage in troops. Have plenty of bombardment, support and supply.

At 1-1 you can get stalled out and run out of supplies, requiring an emergency relief force.

You can try at lower than a 3-1 and keep an offshore reserve for emergencies.

as stated above, use overwhelming force, but once victory is achieved,withdraw to below the stacking limits or you will see your supplies dwindle at an amazing rate

And ofc, always have a base and supplies ready to unload as soon as you can fit it.
