I want to release a new version of Deluxe soon and would like to get some real PBEM testing of it done to see how my new tweaks help gameplay. Basically you would be playing an early version of 1.05. If you have played Deluxe 1.04 you should be right at home, because the changes aren't huge.

You can always find the link to Deluxe AWD in the mods sections of the forum. I provide a download link there. BTW it's actually 1.045 right now because I anticipate a few tiny changes before settling on 1.05. PM me your email Nemesszilli and we'll start a game. I think you should play Axis, since as you say you haven't had a lot of experience. The Allies are, in my opinion, a more difficult side to master.
